Good morning all, HOPE group is back again this month. Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow from 9.15-11.15am at Rushall Hub,Walsall. Let's get together and share all things about autism.
@Mellow_Pascoe It's still happening today! I run a autism support group. It's like our monthly therapy. A parent turned up with a recent diagnosis of a 3 year old. They were sent away with a leaflet and found the group to talk to other parents. They are not a social media person, there is a gap.
@BlackAutistics Okay great. Evenings are better for me, as I'm at work and school run etc. During the day, once everyone is fed and watered I can relax or study.
@BlackAutistics OK, we will have to connect at some point. By phone, zoom, teams. Would be great to hear each others journey. I know it might be a bit random as we've never met.
@BlackAutistics Good morning, yes that's what I thought when I read a write up about yourself. Originally lived in Brum and moved to Walsall when I got married. How are you connected to autism? Family or friend with autism?
@BlackAutistics A colleague of mine saw you online somewhere and thought I should get in touch via tweeter. I also run a parent support group for autistic parents too. Hence the name HOPE Autism Network.
@SEND_Action Dont force your child to do something that will cause more aggravation. We go into stores and people stare, but I know he's better when we as his parents aren't wearing a masks. I'm not going to explain myself to other customers either!
@SEND_Action My son freaks at the sight of masks and visors from the beginning. He has an exemption pass for his secondary school. Seems way happier! As long as he's happy in his autistic world, I'm happy! π
@MoreMorrow Theres a flu vaccine, but you still get flu. They've spent loads on trying find a cancer cure and still nothing. But rustle up a magic vaccine in 8 months that will cure everyone. I'm not buying it, they have messed with my sons mental health and wellbeing.
@MoreMorrow This is a load of nonsense! Do your own research. I'm a keyworker and a parent of an SEN child. The government are making people like sheep, they are out to cause fear and messing with peoples minds and lives Where has flu gone?? No one has had flu this year! Hmmm
@SENwarriormum I'm not saying anything to our son yet, till I know for sure. Messing autistic kids about with schooling and routine is no joke. I'll give Boris a piece of my mind on this whole lockdown business..
@loloislazy Please try not to panic. School is the best place students, I'm pleased as my son is autistic and he would not have coped with schools being closed. He would become quite distressed. I'll say a prayer for your safety.
@loloislazy @autismwestmids My son finds it too distressing to wear. He has found the whole pandemic quite difficult and thought of putting a mask on would cause added distress. During lockdown we hardly took him out, as he would get angry and agitated. He has started secondary school and has exemption.
A sample of some of the goodies that HOPE families received, thanks to the donation from @AF_Blakemore . Greatly appreciated by the children and parents during lockdown. #Autism#givingback
