@MichaelRosmer@dom_gag_96 Unless you think Italy has no regional I don't know elevator installation and maintenance, cleaning, catering whatever, car dealerships, multi-franchise owners types, and all the basic ways millionaires are created in every other advanced economy, absurd to think that, sorry.
@MichaelRosmer@dom_gag_96 True if you mean vc funded/tech global names type entrepreneurial success, otherwise overstated. A 60 million people mature economy even if stagnant and insidery comes with an unavoidable density of businesses, including a certain rate of generation and churn of these businesses.
@aryehazan@akarlin the most catastrophic of scenarios with the most personal of impacts, conservatism at its finest. triggering I know, but consider that it's possible to operate constructively in the world without being crippled by fatalism, paranoia or cowardice. most people do it.
@akarlin Could be the first step towards the birth of an eastern half of the empire. Confirmation would be making the 51st state modern Greece, which in my eyes is the UK, and going from there.
@akarlin Had a similar idea. Make the Holy Land a territory like Puerto Rico, two counties, Israel and Palestine. Make Jerusalem a district, visa free pilgrimage for all.
@akarlin $20 = 12β¬/Β£ in 5? years is usually programmed (πsorry couldn't resist) unless this time is really different, which could be. What happens between now and the return to a more balanced environment I have no idea, but noticeable the discourse is distorted by the $ denominated top
@akarlin A crisis, loss of some of this huge lead built post 2008 and Covid, at which point a Reagan type will have to emerge to restore confidence and a new cycle starts.
@AstralPreobraz1@akarlin@basileSportif Someone should compare median age and consumption as a percentage of GDP, there is a chance the US even though the top economy has a profile on this more similar to developing countries, more hungry, more eager to consume. And Europe falls in a group with Japan, has beens.
@AstralPreobraz1@akarlin@basileSportif make that frugality or risk aversion pretty dumb and self-defeating I would say. The median age maybe plays a role too in these cultural differences.
@akarlin@basileSportif Yeah, that's the typical distance. I think the real difference is in consumption, newer and bigger cars, kitchens, stuff in general, maybe more leisure expenditure on the US side compared to Europe.
@basileSportif Zeventem vs Uccle for example, outside Brussels. Similar stuff outside Milan, Madrid, Munich, Manchester, but different price levels. middle class: https://t.co/nSwlykOtOk
the rich: https://t.co/1Drq52gpf1
@basileSportif The prestige or historic large apartments that go for millions in the city centers are obviously for the old money/rich professionals and so on, and some of the suburban towns/areas will be for and have the 1M+ houses for the same type of people.
