Vol Twitter is fascinating, because everyone in the preseason was predicting that Tennessee’s record would be 8-4 or 9-3. But we’re currently 6-2 right now and some people are calling for Heupel to be fired because “we’re not a national championship caliber team.”
I know the reaction is to be mad and fire ppl, but no one is immune from this right now. I think Josh Heupel and his staff, like most in the sport, need to improve in some areas. But they’re on the wrong side of two close outcomes bc of a play or two. That’s just how it goes in competition - especially when talent is as spread out as it is now. Take the week off and go figure out a way to beat Kentucky and move forward.
I don’t want to hear a word about George MacIntyre today or anytime soon. He pitched a gem in his first ever road game against a legitimately good opponent, and he had two beautiful touchdown throws called back. He’s the guy, and that is that.
If you are tweeting “I’m done with Tennessee” you better stand on it bc I have a folder of screenshots and the moment I see you turn back around I’m coming for you
Tennessee had 3 touchdowns called back today. College football doesn’t make money if Tennessee is 7-0 and a surefire playoff team. More late-season drama means higher ratings and entertainment.
You guys will soon see I’m right. It’s all rigged. Please open your eyes.
