Today began as a classic “let me sleep for 5 mins more” kinda day and that showed in the slow start for the #TekdiTrail as well. But with the sun came the numbers — participants and birds and how 😃

So tomorrow we will do this again, with young birders in tow 😊

Not a single paisa of the 5000cr ##Pune RFD is going towards cleaning or actually rejuvenating Mula river. "Beautifying" a green space means removing a rich riparian ecology & replacing it with concrete🙄

In the times of climate change, water scarcity, extreme weather events, deadly pollution and urban traffic snarls, it would be foolish not to have a citizens' environment manifesto for our elected representatives.

These are the basic demands from us at @VTBKS_Pune

1. Delete the 3 destructive projects planned on @VetalTekdi from Pune’s DP -
Balbharti road, HCMTR and the 2 tunnels
2. Notify Vetal and other tekdis in Pune as Natural Heritage Sites and No Development Zones
3. Focus on strengthening public transport by improving PMPML, completing Metro network and last mile connectivity
4. Keep rivers clean and free flowing by building and repairing STPs under the JICA funded project. Scrap the destructive #RFD project
