Aston Villa end their 30 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
Spurs ended a 17 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
West Ham ended a 43 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
Palace have a very good chance of winning their first European trophy next week.
Massive congratulations to Villa and I don't mean to take anything away from those teams, or their supporters...
But the financial advantage that the Premier League has over the rest of Europe, appears to have ruined the competitive balance in the Europa League and Conference League.
Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG, Barcelona, they'll always be able to compete in the Champions League due to their immense pull in attracting the best talent...
But in the two competitions below? Different story.
But take tonight's game...
Aston Villa wage bill for 24/25 was reportedly £273m, Freiburg's was £20.6m.
That's just not a level playing field!
I’m seeing villa fans complaining about how we played with 10 men vs Newcastle compared to how Newcastle played with 10 men last night.
Difference is one team left with a point whilst the other left with 0. As far as I’m concerned emery is immune from any criticism
@slbsn Fully agree an absolute disgrace we only sold him for 50m, I assume that’s the point you’re making as no one could ever be stupid enough to believe he was worth less?
Disgusting behaviour from the club. Pleased to see the premier league are focused on the right issues here. Forget financial doping this is the real stain on the game.
Always believed that it he best way to punish someone for not doing something is to ban them from doing it
Aston Villa have been fined £125,000 after accepting they breached the Premier League's multiball rules in five matches last season. The club will also be prohibited from operating the multiball system in its first three home league matches of this coming campaign.

When did @Ryanair become a financial advisor?? Pretty sure you have to be FCA regulated to give financial advice in the UK (their exchange rate is horrendous, basically daylight robbery)
Stuff like this is really amusing to me as ultimately he was part of the team that bottled it on the final day… it’s not like Grealish back in 2022 who was CL level but the rest of the team wasn’t. If he and others performed better on the final day we’d be in there…
Boubacar Kamara still hasn’t signed a new contract, and there have been talks about his contract for a good while. But although they’re progressing, he’s been a player who was waiting to see if Villa got into the Champions League.

@leonsfdo@DV1874@AVFCOfficial Good on you for speaking out. It’s about time we stood up for ourselves and I respect you for doing so! Thank you for your hard work utv
3 matches for Jhon Duran. You know what? The most damaged here is not Villa. Is the credibility of the ones that made this decisions.. We are going to keep fighting, nothing will destroy us and we will overcome all this unfair decisions. And we will behave like gentleman.
Don’t get why everyone feels the need to comment on how villa fans treat Grealish. The current reality is this, at this moment in time villa and city are competing for a top 4 place so if booing him makes him play worse and hence city play worse ofc villa fans will boo him
Jack Grealish 1 of 2:
I often hear or see things in football that makes my blood boil. Most people will probably feel the same at some point or other. I guess that’s quite natural when you care passionately about something, or in my case, when it’s something that has consumed your entire life.
The current capitulation of reigning champions Manchester City is enough of a story to fill back pages and jam radio stations up and down the country. But there was another story at Villa Park yesterday that genuinely left me feeling sick to the bottom of my stomach.
Of course, tarring a set of people with the same brush is not something I’m into. I’ve lived a life whereby myself and my teammates have been stereotyped and it’s pretty annoying. There will always be kind, honest, generous, respectful, caring people in all walks of life just as there will always be nasty, jealous, spiteful, bitter people too. Your job or where you’re from doesn’t necessarily make you fall into a certain category.
But to those Villa fans who booed Jack Grealish yesterday, you fall into the second category and should hang your heads in shame.
Here is a lad that came through YOUR academy. Supported The Villa all his life and no doubt still does. He single-handedly dragged YOUR team back into the Premier League when you were bang average at best. He kept you up and in hindsight, showed you ten times more loyalty than you are now showing him. He was hardly ever injured and delivered Man Of The Match performances on a regular basis. He cost you nothing, gave you incredible service and made YOUR club over £100m when he left.
There is something quite bizarre about a country that can achieve something as truly magnificent as we have seen tonight (not to mention superb Olympics and Paralympics in the same year) and yet be in such a mess politically
So if I spend all my salary on luxury goods but don't save so don't get any income from stocks I am a working person, yet if I spend wisely and save I am no longer a working person?
The guy hasn't got a clue
@TalkCPFC What even is this logic.
Sack a bad manager
Replace him with a worse one.
New one does bad so concludes that actually the other one was good??
Or maybe the conclusion should be that England need a better manager than both of them?
Not much critical thinking is required here?
