My FIRST car, my #KiaSonet, has turned into a NIGHTMARE! 💔

At just 5 years 10 months & ~60K km, oil & coolant are mixing. Repair estimate: ₹1.31 LAKH! 😡

Kia calls it “thermal aging” of a sealing component. Their service team says the component is “not lifelong.” Does this mean critical engine components in Kia cars can fail just after 5 years? Is this the reliability customers trust Kia for?

Will #Kia take responsibility or blame the customer for this mechanical failure?

@KiaInd I’m dissatisfied with the service centre’s handling and have lost confidence. Pickup issues were reported in March, followed by a yellow engine light in September. Only ~6 km driven after March service, yet oil-coolant contamination huge bill Please escalate to senior management

@dineshindi28989 I drove mostly in bangalore and mysore ... not much hard use . flushed collant mostly service center should do according to scheduled service time . I hope they have done it .

I’m not sure how frequently this happens with other car manufacturers, but in my case and also I see reditt cases of kia . I’ve had my car serviced only at authorised Kia service centres and followed the service . What concerns me most now is not just the failure itself, but how Kia service center is responding and whether it is willing to take responsibility and offer genuine goodwill support instead of simply asking me to bear the repair cost.

@Swapnasneha yes something like this . they are only interested in invoice rather focusing on the serious failure saying its aging issue and out of warranty.

This is not just about my #KiaSonet. Other owners have also reported oil & coolant mixing issues, including Sonets around 5 years old and 60K km. 💔
