Avoncroft Museum is home to Great Crested Newts. Over the years there have been rumoured sightings of an enormous newt known by museum staff as ‘Bromsgrove Bert’. This week for the first time we have managed to capture Bert on camera as he basked in the Spring sunshine.

We recently rescued a rare Postman's Hut from a garden in Cleobury Mortimer. From the late 19th until the mid-20th C., huts such as this were used as halfway stopping places for postmen, providing a place for them to rest and enjoy their lunch in between lengthy rounds.
