I watch Dutch news and news shows regularly and I'm amazed at their ability to skirt the topic of climate change.

News about weird weather all over the globe (incl. E/C Europe) and not a peep on the link with global warming. That's really odd for a country below sea level ...

@wwwojtekk I think I read somewhere (Fukuyama?) it was to protect church property. Priests had no property and since they had no kids, they did not need it (no bequest motive), so the church could continue accumulating wealth and distributing it as it wished.

@JWMason1 It also matters what the stimulus is spent on. I expect investments in future capacity (infrastructure, R&D, education etc) have a higher chance of shifting the trend upwards.
