Speaking at the 3rd Anniversary of e-FAST India Summit 2025 organised by @NITIAayog, Dr. Hanif Qureshi, Additional Secretary, MHI, highlighted Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi’s vision of India’s transition towards Net Zero by 2070 and the pivotal role of EVs in this journey, calling them a “silent revolution”.
He underlined the key drivers of electrification—reducing Petroleum, Oil & Lubricants (POL) imports, mitigating environmental challenges, and strengthening India’s domestic manufacturing base. Emphasising sustainable growth, he stressed the need to build resilient supply chains, address critical resources like rare earth magnets, and enhance the role of indigenous industry in heavy-duty trucks, buses, and charging infrastructure.
He further added that while challenges remain, converging interests across stakeholders can accelerate India’s progress towards a cleaner, greener, and more self-reliant mobility ecosystem.

Despite the ongoing crunch in funding, there are untapped opportunities that could drive India's #CleanEnergy drive, WRI India CEO @madpai tells PTI in an interview.
VIDEO | Today, up to 20 per cent of greenhouse gases come from food loss and waste of food before it reaches the mandi, said WRI India CEO Madhav Pai, adding that better packaging, storage facilities, and transport can help prevent such losses.
"About 20 per cent of greenhouse gases come from food loss and waste. Food loss refers to the amount of food that is lost before it even reaches the mandi. There is a tremendous loss between the farm and the retail mandi in the city. Reducing those losses requires better packaging, storage, processing, and good transport - all of which are parts of the green transition. The real challenge is how to catalyze small businesses. If we are able to support them with the necessary finance and market access, then we can truly create a green transition that goes beyond just products; it is about building an entire marketplace for green transition," Pai told PTI in an interview.
