@UniOfGalwayASC@AbbeyTheatre @SchoolENCA @UniOfGalwayLib Thank you so much, Barry. The students are still talking about the session. A really wonderful and inspiring experience.
Today (30 September at 2 p.m.) The AWC is holding the first of our free online meetings for students with dyslexia. All University of Galway students with confirmed diagnosis are welcome to attend https://t.co/EylVsENFNm
Delighted that this article on student #retention and academic writing is now published. The research was carried out thanks to the support of the Dean of Students and the Student Project Fund, #NUIG. https://t.co/0uPzdPXw1q
There are still places on the last day of our free summer writing course. It takes place in the training room in the library at 11-1 and again at 2-4. All #NUIG students are welcome to attend. https://t.co/bMIG1gDoyS
#NUIG students, we are delighted to invite you to our three-day course starting on Monday. 11-1 and 2-4 11 July - 13 July on campus. https://t.co/PCAWamE9Nd
The course is in English, but our Irish-language tutor will be available in the afternoons.
Are you an underwriter, an overwriter or a just right writer? I am talking word counts here, rather than style. I think I am an underwriter. Maybe a bit too brisk for my own good.
Hello everyone at #NUIG. The AWC is open today for digital drop in. I can't post the link on Twitter, but if you send me an email from your NUIG account, I will forward it to you.
#NUIG students, the AWC is open this July. Don't wait until September to work on your writing. Get in touch to arrange a one-on-one appointments, or call into us this Monday or Wednesday (digital drop-in is open on Tuesday, email from your NUIG address to get the link).
Are rainy days good for drafting or for editing? Drafting, perhaps, because words can flow like the rain, or maybe editing, each change like a tiny drop of rain?
Thank you so much to everyone who attended our workshop on understanding essay prompts yesterday. Our next workshop will take place on 7 July. Meanwhile, if you're a student at #NUIG, feel free to get in touch for a consultation on your writing.
#NUIG students. We are running a workshop tomorrow (Tuesday) at 2pm in the Library. It's on understanding essay prompts, which is a hugely important topic. https://t.co/EK6t4TjHel
Interesting. Nobody indicated that their comfort levels with writing have undergone a change over the years. But this is one of the things we are trying to do at the AWC: to make writing more enjoyable for those who don't enjoy it, and to make people see writing in a new light.
So far this summer, we have seen #NUIG students from the following disciplines: Law, Children Studies, Accounting, Sociology, Health Science, and History. Summer is an excellent time to work on your writing. Get in touch with us or recommend our tutorials to your students.
It was very good to see some #NUIG students drop in to the AWC this week. We will be back on campus on Monday, and we are open for online appointments today and tomorrow. Get in touch if you'd like to work on your writing with one of our wonderful tutors.
