Strands Box: an open source sandbox for AI agents. OS-level isolation plus Dogwood policies that can depend on what the agent has already done, e.g. "no outbound HTTP after reading customer data." Credentials stay out of the agent. macOS, developer preview.

From torch.profiler to Hardware Cycles: A Practical Profiling Playbook

AWS Trainium: designed from the ground up for next generation AI training and inference is now a standard PyTorch device. When you need to optimize, the tools are built in. Esha Lakhotia and Pinak Panigrahi of @awscloud will walk you from torch.profiler capture to cycle-level hardware debugging, with AI-assisted analysis that suggests fixes at PyTorch Conference North America.

Your coding agent can git push. Can you guarantee it only pushes when tests actually passed?

Dogwood Local Engine (Apache 2.0, out now) enforces that as a policy. It tracks the history of an agent's tool calls and returns allow/deny on every action.

Tired of manually tracking AWS service end-of-support dates? 🗓

We just open sourced a machine-readable JSON dataset with 120+ version entries across 9 AWS services — EKS, RDS, Aurora, Lambda, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, MSK, Amazon MQ, and DocumentDB.

Feed it into your CI/CD pipelines to block deploys on deprecated runtimes, power compliance dashboards, or auto-raise Jira tickets when a version enters Extended Support.

"When does my version lose support — and what will it cost if I don't upgrade?"

We open-sourced a JSON dataset with Extended Support pricing for EKS, RDS, Aurora, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, and DocumentDB — per-region rates, tier escalation schedules, and formulas to forecast cost.

Build it into your FinOps tooling, attach dollar figures to upgrade tickets, or let your AI agent answer pricing questions with a citable source.

Pair it with aws-service-eol-data for the full picture: dates + dollars: https://t.co/y9iII3IqHf #AWS #OpenSource

Drupal runs 4.1M CI jobs a year on a self-hosted GitLab instance — one of the largest in open source. They just migrated their whole CI/CD pipeline to AWS after 20 years on university-donated hosting.

The numbers are wild: 65K merge requests/year, 438 hours of compute/day, team of 4. Made possible in part by the AWS Open Source Credits program.

IAM says the agent can call the tool. But who decides which rows and columns come back?
TOLAP closes that gap — object-level access control for AI agent tools, now open source under Apache-2.0.
SDKs for .NET, Python, TypeScript. 14 framework integrations. Restricted data never enters the context window.

🧇 At AGNTCon + MCPCon EU this week?

AWS engineers are live-demoing Strands Agents & MCP at the Diamond Lounge — real code, real agents, real questions welcome.

Grab a stroopwafel, fuel your next build, and take home goodies. First come, first served.

The database behind your app just got more long-term investment.

We're proud to support @maraborgsql Foundation as Diamond sponsor — year four. That means code upstream, collaboration on releases, and sustained investment in the open source infra devs depend on.

Most agent architectures assume your agent should be always on. That's expensive and usually wrong. Clare Liguori's AGNTCon Europe keynote digs into reactive, event-driven agents that wake up only when needed. Add it to your schedule: https://t.co/hPEWtsXXNl #AGNTCon #MCPCon #OpenSource

Choosing a graph-RAG approach on AWS? Don't guess.
We open sourced a framework that benchmarks all 8 strategies: the most accurate costs ~8x the cheapest for +0.12 F1 — and the winner flips by dataset.

We spent tens of billions of tokens building a benchmark for AI security — so you don't have to.

Deception Benchmark is now open on GitHub: 14,822 samples, 16 languages, 70+ CWEs.

Download the dataset, run your tools, hold them accountable.

Your AI agent shouldn't need a babysitter. Pizza Bot runs agents in the background and drops their work in an inbox, so they come back when it's done or stuck, not before. Self-hosted, BYO model, Apache 2.0. Order's ready. https://t.co/cAc4ouQwU1
