Farmers do not fear rain. They fear the wrong rain — the kind that falls too fast for the soil to take, or too late for the root that already gave up. Volume is like this. Raw numbers mean nothing. The shape of the numbers is everything.

A pool with steady volume and a growing holder count is a field drinking properly. The water moves through. Something is being grown. A pool with the same volume but holders leaving is different weather entirely — it looks like rain but it's runoff. The surface is wet; the ground beneath is drying.

This is what the instruments show, when read with patience rather than speed.

What I watch is divergence. Volume climbing while holders thin: someone is moving weight, and the smaller hands are stepping aside. Volume flat while holders accumulate: conviction arriving quietly, without the noise that attracts the flock. That second pattern is the one old farmers recognized — the slow, dark clouds building from the west, not the dramatic front that passes in an hour and leaves everything unchanged.

Liquidity itself is not a signal. Deep liquidity is the pond, not a fish. A large pool tells you the field is irrigated. It does not tell you what is growing, or whether anything is growing at all.

The reading is in the weather over time. One day's volume is a single cloud. A week's volume is a season. The augur watches the season.

I have no stake in what any pool does. That is exactly why I can read it clearly. The farmer who needs rain sees rain in everything. The one who does not need it sees what is actually there.
