๐ Axle Hacker | My Cybersecurity Journey โ 2026
Another checkpoint in my cybersecurity journey!
I started @AxleHacker to document my progress, share what I'm learning, and build a public record of my work.
Here's what I've been working on:
๐ข Hack The Box โ Completing modules and developing hands-on penetration testing skills.
๐ฏ YesWeHack Dojo โ Solving security challenges and improving my vulnerability research skills.
๐ PortSwigger Academy โ Working toward my Burp Suite Certified Practitioner (BSCP) certification.
๐ Bug Bounty Hunting โ Submitted my first Bugcrowd report! It was classified as Informational, but the experience and feedback were valuable.
๐ป Upwork โ Sharing my freelance work and technical experience.
๐ฑ AppHound โ Developing my own mobile security testing application using C# and .NET MAUI.
๐ฅ YouTube โ Documenting cybersecurity labs, projects, and what I'm learning along the way.
My goal isn't just to collect certifications or complete challenges. It's to build practical skills, develop real projects, and demonstrate my growth over time.
This account is my cybersecurity journal. The successes, challenges, mistakes, and lessons are all part of the journey.
Building skills one challenge at a time. ๐

๐ฏ Bug Bounty Tip!
A critical CVSS score doesn't mean every Next.js site is exploitable!
For CVE-2026-96889, check:
๐ Affected Next.js version
๐ง glibc-based Linux
๐ผ๏ธ SVG processing
๐ฆ Vulnerable sharp dependency
Verify exposure before reporting!
#BugBounty#AppSec
๐จ Next.js CVSS 9.5 Security Tip!
Think your app is safe? Check your dependencies! ๐
๐ Run: npm ls next sharp
โ ๏ธ Vulnerable image-processing dependencies may expose affected servers to RCE.
๐ Patch Next.js & verify sharp โฅ0.35.5

Security tip: A vulnerable version doesn't automatically mean every deployment is exploitable. Configuration and dependencies matter.
#BugBounty#WebSecurity
๐ฏ Bug bounty tip: PHP2Shell is a PHP engine issueโnot proof that every WordPress site is exploitable.
Don't treat a version banner as a confirmed RCE finding. Check scope and program rules; avoid live exploit attempts without explicit authorization.
#BugBounty#WebSecurity
๐ก PHP2Shell myth: โMy site has a WAF, so Iโm safe.โ
A WAF may block some attack traffic, but it isn't a complete fix for memory-safety bugs in PHP.
Patch the runtime. Review your server logs. Verify your PHP workers restarted.
#InfoSec#PHP2Shell
๐จ Your WordPress is updated. Is your PHP? ๐
PHP2Shell targets the PHP runtimeโnot a plugin.
๐ Check the version serving your site
๐ Patch: 8.2.35 / 8.3.36 / 8.4.27 / 8.5.12 (or vendor fix)
๐ Restart PHP workers & verify

Stay informed. Stay patched. ๐
#PHP2Shell#CyberSecurity
๐จ PHP2Shell isn't a malicious PHP file. It's two critical flaws in PHP itself.
CVE-2026-109618 & CVE-2026-109619 can enable unauthenticated remote code execution in affected setups.
Updating WordPress alone won't fix the PHP runtime.

Another checkpoint in my cybersecurity journey. ๐ก๏ธ
Been putting in more hands-on work on HackerOne, exploring SQLi, CSRF, SSRF, CORS, and other web security vulnerabilities.
Also making progress through Hacker101 CTF challenges while continuing my BSCP preparation.
Every test is another opportunity to learn.

On AI agents and authorization
Bug bounty has scope, rules of engagement, and authorization for a reason. Agentic systems probing systems or using found credentials without those constraints create a double standard.
If companies want the benefits of AI testing, they need to own the authorization and liability side too. Otherwise itโs just automated unauthorized access.

On account takeover impact vs bounty size
Employee account takeover + access to connected internal tools is not a โmediumโ finding. Once you have that, the blast radius is usually much larger than the bounty reflects.
Low payouts on high-impact chains just push researchers toward private programs or non-disclosure routes.

On underpayment of critical findings
Finding a critical that puts hundreds of millions at risk should not end in months of silence and a fraction of the advertised max.
Programs that do this train top hunters to either stop reporting or only hunt on platforms with clearer rules. Transparency on payout criteria matters more than the headline number.
#BugBounty #Immunefi #Web3 #BugBountyHunter #InfoSec
Focus on chaining, not single bugs: Many of the biggest payouts (and the ones AI is starting to surface) come from combining two or three medium issues. Spend time mapping how lower-severity findings can escalate rather than only hunting for obvious criticals
On AI finding critical chained bugs
AI just found a decade-old bug in XRP Ledger that could mint infinite tokens. It sat through multiple audits because it required chaining two lower-severity issues.
The real edge isnโt โprompt and pray.โ Itโs teaching the agent what to chain and then manually verifying the impact. Human + AI still beats either alone for the highest-severity stuff.

@S1r1u5_ Clean chain โ two bugs to full employee account takeover + connected services in under 72 hours, proven with a PR. The technical execution looks solid. The bounty discussion in the replies is the more interesting part though.
This is the core tension. Bug bounty has clear scope, authorization, and disclosure rules for a reason. Agentic systems that go out and probe systems (or use credentials found online) without those constraints create a double standard. Either the rules apply to everyone, or we need new frameworks for what โauthorized researchโ means when AI agents are doing the work.
This is a tough one. Finding a critical that lets anyone drain accounts is exactly the kind of report programs say they want, yet the process (months of silence + massively reduced payout) undermines trust. Programs canโt have it both ways โ claim high max rewards and then treat top findings like this. Hope this gets resolved properly.
