*DNA Shocks Are Rising: Before You File for Divorce, Read This. DNA, Hospitals and the Children We Lost.*
Rev Fr Prince CHIDI Philip
I made a post where I clearly stated that I will not celebrate the marriage of a couple if both partners are AS. I also stated that any pastor who tells you that prayer can change your genotype from AS to AA is simply a fraud.
After that post, a young man contacted me. He is Nigerian and had lived in Nigeria before relocating to abroad.
This is his story.
Some years ago, he returned to Nigeria to get married. After the wedding, he went back alone because he needed time to prepare the documents and settle down before bringing his wife over. However, before he traveled, his wife was already pregnant.
To make things easier for her during the visa process, he rented an apartment for her in the city so she could easily go to the embassy whenever necessary.
Unfortunately, the visa process took longer than expected. She eventually gave birth in Nigeria, and only after that did she travel when her visa was approved.
After reading the post on genotype and DNA, the man decided to carry out a DNA test on the child.
The result shocked him.
The test showed that his son is not his biological child.
He was already breaking down emotionally when he contacted me, and he was seriously considering divorce.
However, to be fair and to make the matter clearer, I advised him to also confirm whether the wife was indeed the biological mother of the child.
They did another DNA test.
And this time, the result showed that the woman is also not the biological mother of the child.
That is when the real drama began. There is a known medical situation in which a child’s DNA may not match that of the parents even when they are truly the biological parents, but it is extremely rare. Because of this possibility, they are now running additional and more advanced tests.
But if it eventually turns out that the child does not belong to either of them, they will have to return to Nigeria to search for their biological child and take legal action against the hospital involved.
This is why, whenever the topic of DNA testing comes up, many people immediately assume it is about infidelity.
That is not always the case.
I have heard many stories of babies being swapped in hospitals. I am only using one real-life situation here as a context.
And frankly, a large number of paternity problems are not even caused by infidelity.
Some doctors, nurses, midwives, and matrons are simply evil.
In some cases, babies are swapped. In many other cases, parents are told that their baby died, while the baby is secretly sold.
Let that sink in. If your wife is in labour, make sure you, as the husband, or at least a very close family member, is present. Do not leave the hospital, even if they try to pressure you to go.
When it comes to preventing baby swapping in hospitals, one very practical step is this, pregnant women should do a gender scan and a reconfirmation scan shortly before delivery. Even better, husbands should be present in the delivery room, as is commonly practiced in many developed countries.
Lastly, I strongly advise families who can afford it to consider DNA testing. You have a right to know whether the child you are raising is truly yours.
It is painful to imagine that you may be training another person’s child, while your own biological child is somewhere else, suffering.
And for those who live abroad while their wives and children remain in Nigeria, DNA testing is not an insult, it is protection. Do it to be sure that your children are truly yours.
Sometimes, the danger is not only infidelity.
Sometimes, your enemies may be swapping your children simply because you are not sending them money.
This is not a message of fear. It is a message of awareness.
COURT ISSUES INTERIM ORDER ON TINTED GLASS PERMIT ENFORCEMENT
On 15th December 2025, the Nigeria Police Force announced the resumption of enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit policy, to take effect from 2nd January 2026, in furtherance of its responsibility for public safety and internal security.
However, subsequent to this announcement, the Nigeria Police Force was served with an interim order of court in Suit No. HOR/FHR/M/31/2025, issued on 17th December 2025, restraining the Force from proceeding with the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit policy pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit or the vacation of the order.
In line with constitutional obligations and respect for judicial authority, the Nigeria Police Force has entered appearance in the matter, raised preliminary objections, and formally applied for the vacation of the interim order. The court has adjourned the case to 20th January 2026 for further proceedings.
Accordingly, and strictly in compliance with the subsisting court order, the Nigeria Police Force has placed the enforcement of the Tinted Glass Permit policy on hold nationwide, pending the decision of the court.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, affirms that the Nigeria Police Force remains resolute in upholding the rule of law while discharging its primary mandate of protecting lives and property. The Force will continue to deploy lawful, intelligence-driven strategies to address security challenges and safeguard public safety across the country.
Members of the public are assured that the Nigeria Police Force will communicate further developments and issue clear guidance as appropriate following the court’s determination of the matter, in the overriding interest of public order and national security.
