My biggest beef with foreign aid is what it does to agency.
When people become constant recipients, you create dependency. And once people are rooted in dependency, resentment follows.
Dependency and resentment together are a non-starter for anything good.
The new Rwandan flag cannot erase the genocide committed by the RPF. The massacres of civilians in Rwanda and the DRC must be acknowledged, and those responsible must be prosecuted, regardless of their political or ethnic affiliation. Justice must not be reserved for the victors!
You talk about discipline, cleanliness, stadiums and Formula One, but what about the Congolese lives lost and the suffering of communities in eastern DRC? A country’s greatness cannot be measured by its buildings while the human cost of regional conflicts is ignored. #FreeCongo
"Educate the girl child"
"Empowerment for the girl child"
Again, I ask. What is the benefit of the education and empowerment if *MAJORITY* of them still end up thinking like this?
Factor in that Nigerian infrastructure, like power, is substandard
What would the GDP of Nigeria be if power were fixed?
What if power, roads, rail and education were fixed?

GDP adjusted for Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) accounts for differences in the cost of goods and services between countries.
In simple terms,
$100 can buy more in some countries than others. PPP adjusts for this, giving us a better comparison of the actual size of economies.
That’s why South Africa’s economy is valued at $1.08 trillion on a PPP basis, even though its nominal GDP figure is much lower.
