Somaliland President Begins Diplomatic Visit to Israel

Israeli President Isaac Herzog is currently meeting with Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi in Jerusalem, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between Israel and Somaliland.

The visit comes roughly five months after Israel became the first country in the world to formally recognize Somaliland as an independent state, and represents a direct continuation of the diplomatic rapprochement that began through discreet contacts in the summer of 2025.
