@officialABAT@OgbeniDipo This is a good development. More grace to our gallant soldiers and American solders as they work together to get rid of these terrorists. More wisdom to our president and God bless Nigeria 🇳🇬
They keep saying “Islam belongs in the 14th century” and we get triggered.
But let’s be brutally honest for once:
Which religion still defends child marriage?
Which one prescribes death for blasphemy?
Which one forces women to cover up or face punishment?
Which one calls killing “Jihad” and celebrates it?
Which one promises 72 virgins as sexual reward in heaven?
Which one wants to punish non-Muslims under Shariah law?
We scream “That’s not real Islam!”
Yet we still defend these practices and tag them as “Islamic.”
Even though EVERY SINGLE ONE of them contradicts the actual teachings of the Quran.
So tell me…
How exactly are we supposed to convince the world that Islam is compatible with the 21st century when we keep dragging 7th-century tribal ideas into 2026 and calling them “our religion”?
It’s time to stop getting angry at the question…
and start answering it with honesty.
In 1998, Prof. Dora Akunyili was the South-east Zonal Secretary of the Petroleum Trust Fund [PTF].
Her doctors diagnosed her of a cancer tumor growing rapidly in her breast, and she had to travel to the United States for a surgery.
General M Buhari who was the PTF chairman approved the sum of £17,100 for her medical expenses with £12000 deposited directly to the hospital while £5100 was given to her as living and medication expenses.
When she got there, the doctors over there found out it was a minor tumor which could be treated without surgery, and so the surgery was cancelled and she was refunded directly by the hospital.
She came back to Nigeria, and instead of keeping the money, she did what no Current Nigerian Politician would do. She returned the £12,000 to PTF and wrote a letter thanking Gen. Buhari, while explaining that she didn't need the money.
In the letter from late Dora to Gen Buhari, she explains that she was returning 12,000 of the £17,100 because doctors decided surgery was not needed.
That act of integrity is one of a kind, and that was part of what determined her position as the NAFDAC boss.
I can assure you that in the current Nigeria, these rogues in power would have seized that money and used £1k for thanksgiving for a successful surgery.
Point to note is that the £12k was enough to buy a choicy house in Ikoyi, in those days, but she refused to do any of that.
@RepRileyMoore Dear Riley,
Thank you very much for your interest in unity and prosperity of our country, Nigeria.
You will have to help us in the area of our constitution if we have to solve this problem. How can a nation be govern by two separate constitution?
“Islam does not support extremism.”
Two hours later, over a hundred people are dead in Ilorin at the hands of men shouting Islamic slogans.
The next day, more bodies somewhere else in Nigeria, same story, same claims.
Then we come online with quotes and hashtags to defend Islam. How long will we keep doing damage control instead of dealing with the people doing the damage in our name? If we cannot confront them honestly, we are only fooling ourselves.
Yorubaland must reject political Shariah completely. No soft talk, no pretending. Look at the North and be honest about the results. Has it ended corruption. Has it ended poverty. Has it stopped violence. If the answer is no, then what exactly is the big success people want to copy.
Nobody is insulting northerners. This is about facts, not feelings. If political Shariah has truly improved the North, name one clear benefit the ordinary person can point to without struggling.
Yorubaland is not broken. They are not begging for a religious legal system to come and “fix” them. Forcing politics and religion into one power structure will not make society purer. It will only create new tensions, new hypocrisy, and new forms of oppression dressed up as righteousness.
@bjerde_anna@DamilolaSDG7 We are pleading with the Federal Government of Nigeria to release the grant given to the Nigerian masses since 9years ago. Let’s the government help the poor to survive. Those who gave the grant will not be happy with what is going on. Please 🙏
@_dinomelaye Proverbs 27:22 (NKJV): Though you grind a fool in a mortar with a pestle along with crushed grain,
Yet his foolishness will not depart from him.
@_dinomelaye When you were there, what did you do for your immediate family, your town or your local government? Were you blind then?
Is it not public display of your cars, houses even the kind of food you eat you were busy doing then?
Wicked man!
