Alhamdillah we received the Bravery Star medal from the Governor General of New Zealand on behalf of my late brother Hussein Al-Umari NZBS for outstanding bravery and selflessness which saved the lives of others during the Christchurch Mosque attacks.

It all started the day of the attack when I heard a couple of people placing Hussein in the mosque shouting " Get out, Get out ". After years of navigating suppression orders , his actions have now received the recognition that it truly deserved from the outset.

Today,it's with great honour and deep pride that I see my brother Hussein Al-Umari officially recognised as a national hero.This recognition is a beautiful tribute to his courage,selflessness and love for others.

And starts from the top , we have a long long way to go here in Aotearoa, we see things being undone , we see alot of reccomendations go into a black hole that is bigger than space, we see the biases in our international policies, we see them ,
