Bamutakudde cleaning Day:
This week's community cleaning was special in #Bamutakudde.
We didn't just clean — we planted the future. 2,000 trees: 🌸 1,000 cherry blossoms along our village highway. 1,000 fruit trees for homes & gardens 🥭
Grateful to @GoodForestsUg for partnering with us on this greening journey. Together, we are building the village we call home.
This lady reported about the King so accurately with so much respect far better than some Ugandan vloggers looking for clicks. Much respect and appreciation to her 👏
We have started our 3 day retreat with the Bamutakudde LC1 committee members at the Nagalale Country house to work on a 5 year strategic plan for the village. We thank our facilitators the Director General of @afyanahakiug Prof @MulumbaMoses_ , and UNICEF consultant Patrick Banyengana. We are optimistic about the future of the village.
BREAKING NEWS 🚨:
The Uganda Medical Association (UMA) has announced industrial action over the ongoing welfare and deployment crisis affecting medical interns and the wider medical profession.
Doctors have given government 14 days to provide clear, written and satisfactory commitments on the deployment and facilitation of medical interns.
If government fails to act, doctors across Uganda will commence industrial action.
The government should support all medical interns to transition into registered medical doctors in order to improve service delivery and foreign direct investment (FDI). This is just an investment of one year. Once they get registered, they will either provide services in public and private health facilities in Uganda or they will go abroad and bring in FDI. It is not possible to find a registered medical doctor who is not practicing. So government support of one year i.e. paying medical interns for one year will lead to job creation and improved service delivery. Let us all support this cause. I hope Cabinet reverses that bad ministry of health policy on internship.
As SHOs we still say NO to the Shambolic NETH policy
Interns aren’t students, but licenced doctors practicing under supervision.
Interns, SHOs & Fellows do Full time service and therefore should be paid
We support the refusal of Interns to report.
