Many Religions in America, but One Stands Out as a Problem.

There are approximately 3 million Hindus, 4 million Buddhists, and 8 million Jews in America.

Since 1994, I have not found a documented terrorist attack motivated by Hinduism or Buddhism that killed Americans on U.S. soil.

I found two cases involving suspected Jewish extremists: the 1994 bombings targeting Jewish organizations that supported peace with Palestinians, and a 2001 conspiracy to bomb a mosque that was stopped before it could be carried out.

Now compare that with Islam.

There are approximately 4 million Muslims in America, roughly the same number as Buddhists and half the Jewish population.

Yet since 1994, Muslim terrorists have murdered thousands of Americans on American soil. The September 11 attacks alone killed nearly 3,000 people. The Fort Hood shooter murdered 13. The Orlando nightclub shooter murdered 49. The San Bernardino terrorists murdered 14.

These were not isolated incidents. Islamic terrorist attacks and plots have involved people from different countries, ethnic backgrounds, and nationalities, including converts to Islam.

What did these terrorists have in common?

They invoked Islam to justify their violence.

And yet, after every attack, we hear the same predictable explanation: They misunderstood Islam! They misinterpreted the Quran! They don’t represent the religion!

Really?

Then answer one simple question.

Why does this particular pattern of religiously justified terrorism repeatedly emerge from Islam, while we do not see anything comparable from Hinduism or Buddhism in America?

Are we supposed to believe that generations of jihadists, from different countries, speaking different languages, and living in different cultures, all independently misunderstood the same religion in exactly the same violent direction?

And that their misunderstanding somehow repeatedly led them to the same objectives: jihad, Islamic supremacy, and the establishment of Sharia?

At what point do we stop treating the ideology as an innocent bystander?

Muslims preachers and activists openly seek to replace secular government with sharia. That is not a conspiracy theory. It is a political and theological objective they themselves proclaim.

Of course, not every Muslim supports terrorism or wants Sharia imposed on America. But that fact does not erase the ideology motivating those who do.

The question is not whether every Muslim is a terrorist. The question is why so many Muslim terrorists have justified their actions through the same religious texts and doctrines.

You cannot keep blaming every terrorist attack on a misunderstanding while refusing to examine what is being understood.

It is clear that Islam stands apart from other religions in America as a source of serious dangers that have cost American lives and continue to threaten the safety and foundations of our society.
