For clarity, without agreeing to a break clause in LS’s favour, Hearts would not have had him (and his 20 goals) for the past year. There was no value in publicising the break clause as would have alerted others / created uncertainty. Ultimately the deal worked for both parties
@Richwfc2 They should be thankful that he returned to them for a 2nd stint after how they mistreated him in first place. Saved them from relegation when he did.
@BlairMcNally1 I wonder if the ‘free’ clause was triggered on Hearts finishing position in the league, or directly associated with Shanks, eg on him making WC squad. Would explain why this has suddenly materialised.
Hearts fans (last season): Give Shanks whatever he wants in order to stay.
Hearts board: Gives Shanks what he wants.
Hearts fans (now): Ffs why did we give him what he wanted
Another VAR error over Celtic's penalty at Motherwell. This one severely impacted Hearts' title bid. The Tynecastle club and their fans rightly feel aggrieved at how the last week of the Premiership played out.

Yesterday, I commented on the fact that Hearts team had left the stadium without feeling safe enough to shower or change.
I thought it was disgraceful.
The pile on from Celtic fans after making this comment was predictable. The thing is. I was well able for them. But the loathesome nonsense and weird crap shows the class of people.
Hearts fans on the other hand, well you guys were amazing.
Most knew you couldn’t beat the SFA who along with the corrupt referees and VAR made sure the vile club, Celtic won.
Another tainted title.
Heart of Midlothian is on the verge of breaking four decades of dominance by Celtic and Rangers with one of the most improbable campaigns Scottish soccer has ever seen. https://t.co/8YMad6sGgI
🗣️ "I think the SFA should probably come out and release the audio, but at least explain the decision-making process."
Bobby Madden has called on SFA to act after the 'ridiculous' award of Celtic penalty impacts title race

Comparing the handball incident Heart’s should have got a penalty for on Saturday with that one Celtic got…
It’s absolutely wild. Scottish refereeing and their use of VAR has reached a new low.
A disgrace.
