If you don't know the battle between Luis Figo and Luis Felipe Scolari, let me educate you

In 2003, after Deco was granted Portuguese citizenship, Scolari called him up into the squad, the first person that kicked against it was Luis Figo

He didn't want Deco to be part of the team because he is a Brazilian and not a Portuguese

Figo said

The substituton paid off, Postiga scored the equalizer, and Portugal advanced on penalties

After the final loss to Greece, Figo quit the national team because he didn't want to play under Scolari again

Despite all these, Scolari played down any rift and rancur with Figo

In June 2005, Figo returned to the national team having missed seven of Portugal's 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers
