At the beginning of this year, I wanted to find out how much water I’d drink over six months and eventually, a full year.
So I made a conscious effort to keep every single bottle of water I finished, even the ones I drank while I was out. I’d put the empty bottles in my car and bring them home.
Six months later, I’ve gone through 55 pack and 660 bottles of 75cl Aquafina, that’s a total of 495 liters of water.
Not bad at all.🙂↔️💧
“Woman no dey use her money play”
“Provision is a man shield”
“No let woman help you”
“Na shameless man dey plan with him wife money”
“A man must be 5 steps ahead”
“A man does not need love”
All these talks exist because Nigerian men are bent on paying for love just to have a sense of superiority over the woman they chose for themselves. However, what they fail to realize is that headship in the home isn’t tied to the amount of fiat you have in the bank. They spend money hoping it will earn them loyalty, respect, and affection, then mistake that one-sided transaction for love.
They’ve seen countless suffer men for attempting to earn the affection and commitment of a woman with money in Dickson’s and Salako’s anonymous, yet, because they are unwilling to adapt to an healthier reality, they accept prostitution then tag it love and delude themselves by calling themselves traditional, Odogwu or some other nonsense.
This is in part, the reason Nigerian men have the lowest life expectancy in the world!!!
One of the things I find amusing about these men and their confidence is how that they try to ridicule men who refuse to settle for anything less than genuine affection with “marry first” and go as far as calling them “small boys” “unrealistic”.
At the end of the day, any man who chooses and commits himself in a loveless relationship in big is a fool destined for ruin!!!
Hope yall doing tribalism and bigotry can see that at the end of the day it’s still the Nigerian flag that’s on display.
The sooner our generation defeats the seeds of division that’s been sown amongst us, the sooner we can have a better country for ALL OF US 👏🏾⚡️
God, please remove every lazy spirit, every lazy bone, and every habit of procrastination from me. give me discipline when i lack motivation, consistency when i lack focus, and the strength to walk fully in the purpose You’ve placed over my life. AMEN 🤲🏾
You’ll work on yourself tirelessly to save yourself from misery and despair, and then you’ll meet one idiot who would be annoyed at you for not giving them access to your inner world.
Omo Una wey de toast babes de try o, Make I just dey explain myself to girl wey no get house, car or money
Still come dey beg am make she manage my own money wey she no get😭😭😭
One of my friends said, "you have interesting view about marriage. But we know you to be a generous person. You don't even know how to be unkind. All this one you are forming that your woman will invest her money in the home, we know she will enjoy your money. Your guys and people you don't even know are enjoying your kindness. Haba!"
I just smiled and explained to him. I'll write down what I told him.
You are looking at it monetarily. It is not about money. I don't have any attachment to money. The only reason I want to be rich is to expand my reach of kindness. If I'm always kind to strangers and friends, then you should know my partner is enjoying my money too. But it is not about money, it is about commitment. Whether I need her money or not, is irrelevant. Her money must be invested in the home the way mine is invested in the home. I'll eat her money the way she is eating my money. The point is, where your money is, that is where your heart is. You cannot buy love and commitment by footing all the bills. Someone who isn't giving to you habitually, is not in love with you. It is not a male attribute to give, it is a love attribute. Odogwu is not a flex. The whole point of marriage, is to do life together.
Everything I have belongs to her and the kids. If she doesn't know that, it is disappointing. Remember the story of the prodigal son? The one that stayed with the father was angry the father forgave the prodigal son because he didnt know that everything the father had, belonged to him.
Around here, we don’t do “happy wife, happy home.” We do “happy couple, happy home.”
The husband’s happiness matters too. We’re not inheriting the silence of our fathers.
One fool in my secondary school stole his parent’s money to gift one of the fine girls in my set on Valentine’s Day.
The fool’s parent cane to school, embarrassed him and made him a laughing stock for the rest of his time in school.
I was both shocked and angry when I discovered he wasn’t even dating the girl neither did she like him. So, he stole and tried to impress a girl who he wasn’t dating and hasn’t even shared a hug with.
Some of these men you see acting all foolish in the dating and romantic scenes are like the fool from my secondary, born with the desire to negotiate genuine desire. So, no matter what you do, no matter the examples you show them, no matter how many videos and think pieces they read, they will continue to be fools who think they can spend their way into earning the commitment and affection of a woman.
You must come to terms with the fact that you cannot change some people’s destiny for them.
