@motelbad It’s a roadmap. They’re not all “major” roads (source: I’ve driven down a lot of them), but they’re showing the only ways to get to some places.
I’m probably most surprised by the inclusion of the one in the bottom left corner which goes out to Edgar Dam.
@kevinbonham Any inklings as to when the announcement of final electorates will be for Tasmania? The only hints I’ve got from their website are “Q2” and “expected”. Have I missed any other clues?
@immyonboard In 2022 the Liberal staffers bought us all coffee. I managed to persuade the guy handing out HTVs for the UAP to start telling people not to vote for the Libertarians, who were number 2 on their preference list.
@kevinbonham If you use Andrew Conway’s senate website, the JLN won in 2022 at the expense of the Liberals, and in 2025 at the expense of Labor. So arguably if Tyrell is running third on Labor’s ticket she’s got a chance.
@Ed_Miliband Save us Ed Miliband! Become Prime Minister, bring electoral reform, and be the progressive Ed Mili-Bandaid the Labour Party and the country neeeds!
@gasugasu1984@owenjonesjourno It’s almost like Kier Starmer saying he’d fix it before getting elected, and then immediately going back on that was a bad move.
@kevinbonham@BenMessenger8 I count 6 between 1918 and today - which is around 14.6%. 1940, 1954, 1961, 1969, 1990, and 1998.
So not good, but yes you’re right it is below 20%.
(Bearing in mind as well at some of those elections at least a couple of candidates were unopposed which skews the numbers.)
@BenMessenger8@kevinbonham Okay, but the problem with “wrong winner” elections also happens about 20% of the time under AV, thanks to single member (that is, winner takes all) electorates.
