I found an alternate version of Mary's monologue in SH2R's data files, and in this version she has more intense mood swings than in-game.

Many people who played SH2 don't realize it's extremely common for bedridden and terminally ill people to have extreme mood swings, and most of the time they take it out on their caretakers. They don't do it out of hatred, it's their physical and emotional pain "speaking". Losing the life they once had and becoming dependent on others can mentally destroy both the person suffering and those who take care of them.

I felt terrible listening to this 💔 (This recording was most likely an early test, because it's in low quality)

Konami encouraged the Silent Hill f writing team to read 100–200 books a year.

Producer Motoi Okamoto said reading is one of the best ways for writers to improve, helping them learn new storytelling techniques and ideas.

He also said producers should read most of a writer’s previous work before hiring them so they understand their style.

Okamoto said that’s one of the reasons Konami chose Ryukishi07 to write Silent Hill f.
