Discord will start making messages from Discoverable public servers searchable on Google and other search engines from mid-December.

The feature is ON by default in most regions, but you can opt out:

User Settings → Data & Privacy → turn off “Show my message content from Discoverable channels on web pages.”

In the EU, UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia and South Korea, it will be OFF by default.

Private servers, DMs and group DMs are not included. Usernames and avatars won’t appear alongside indexed messages.

This is really funny to me because the only ones you’ll see complaining about “splitting the playerbase” is the hardcore pvp seekers who run around in a pvpve mode just trying to kill players and not interact with the rest of the mode.

My timeline is filled with people wanting PvE DMZ. Other people telling people that want PvE to grow up and stop crying, or to play another game.

I think people don't understand the VAST amount of people that don't want to play PvP in most games. Game companies have it because it creates a world that enhances the percieved value of microtransactions, but the reality is... people just want to play and have fun. Not everything has to be about beating the next man or playing for your life every time you turn a console on.

The original PvPvE mode is still there for you to play.

Comp players throw a childish fit when a pve mode is introduced saying it will ruin the game

Causal players complain when they get killed when asking to be friendly

Most comp players are toxic but thats another issue

Everyone has their own version of what they call fun, gaming cannot cater to both unless they have seperate gamemodes for each playstyle

Ive grown up to not hate competitive players but to accept ive been beaten and move on
