To people from other countries, please remember what is happening right now. One day, your culture might be appropriated without permission for someone else's benefit, only for them to brush it off by saying,
“It’s just a fictional city.”
Thailand is extremely well-known for producing BL series, and a series starring popular BL actors can easily gain global attention.
When that happens, most viewers won't stop to wonder which country's traditional attire they are actually seeing. The impression left on the majority of audiences may simply be that “this is Thai culture.”
Today, it happens to be Myanmar's culture and traditional attire caught up in this controversy. Tomorrow, it could just as easily be your country's culture in the same situation.
GMMTV has taught us one important lesson: how crucial it is to preserve our cultural heritage, and just how united we can be when a crisis hits. I'm taking notes.
See you when the series airs...
What kind of logic is that?
Are you suggesting that simply because people from our country live in yours, our culture should also be treated as if it belongs to your country?

We acknowledge GMMTV's statement as a first step. However, our concerns remain, and our requests for proper cultural explanations, acknowledgement, and on-screen credits have yet to be fully addressed.

@fforcejs I really shock your action on the fact, your are posting this profile as your hater.I understand that GMMTV might be using you to divert attention because they can no longer properly explain their disrespectfulness for our culture.
However, what you've to do is still your choice
They seem to think they can bully us,
They seem to think they can disrespect our culture ,
And they seem to think they can simply shift the blame and turn this into an “Artist vs. Haters” issue
Just because we're Myanmar people.
I'm honestly surprised that you think this is all because of haters.
When we were speaking up about how GMMTV had disrespected our country's culture, your mocking video came out. That's exactly why we, as Myanmar people, were upset.
That's more than that about fans and haters!
@fforcejs เรื่องที่กำลังเป็นกระแสขนาดนี้ จะบอกว่าไม่รู้ได้ยังไง? กำลังพยายามรักษาหน้าตัวเองอยู่หรือเปล่า?
We are just saying to RESPECT OUR CULTURE!
ช่วยออกมาเรียกร้องให้ GMMTV ชี้แจงและแก้ไขปัญหานี้อย่างจริงจังด้วยค่ะ
@BlackBrater They never even acknowledged that it was Myanmar traditional attire! You see? We’re speaking up because our culture was used disrespectfully.
Just RESPECT OUR CULTURE is very hard?
@BlackBrater They weren’t promoting Myanmar traditional attire. They were acting as if Myanmar traditional attire belonged to them.
Feeling disappointed!
