What a privilege to see this new iteration of Rush. Geddy looked so happy on stage-- in fact, they all did. In times like these, we can all use some moments of joy, and Rush has brought people together from all over the world. SO glad they are back!
Alright, it’s that time of the month again and you know how it works. Like, retweet, & make sure you’re following @burnsieoriginal for your chance to win the wax & the bonuses. Good luck and thank you for playing!
Caring for someone who has a mental illness can be extraordinarily difficult. Sometimes you need to be reminded: “Don’t give up on a person with a mental illness when they act like a person with mental illness.”
I know this. People haven’t given up on me.
#SickNotWeak
My rules for the "check in".
1. Ask. Regularly. Don't quit after one "I'm fine."
2. Explain why you're asking. Give specific evidence as to why your concerned. IE. "you dont seem like yourself, and here's why..."
3. Ask rhetorical questions like "I want to know if you're mentally okay. its fine if you don't want to answer me- but answer yourself, and be honest."
4. The key question for all of us: Does your mental health allow you to live your best life?
This one hits hard.
Mental health isn’t just about a post a fundraiser or a hashtag.
Tough times and condolences to his family on and off the ice.
Keep fighting and reach out until you get the help you need.
If you know someone’s struggling don’t be quiet
Go beyond checking in go beyond thoughts and prayers, I can’t even start with the depth my fight took me. It was all of you who reached out I will never forget that, saved my life.
If you know someone’s struggling people fighting for their life and you stay silent and cut off or cut them out -do better be better be a difference maker
Remember No one fights alone , sadly too many do
@JeffMarek I came to work one morning and didn't see my co-worker buddy in the space where he usually was, thought maybe he was late . A couple hours later we found out he had taken his life earlier that day. Had no idea he was suffering 😢, he showed no signs. We miss him terribly 💔
We have to be able to talk about suicide.
I understand nobody wants to say the wrong thing and upset anybody but I feel the way we avoid it is doing more harm than good. It's unhealthy.
And if you are struggling, please reach out to someone or call 9-8-8.
We’re all imperfect, we all need help. Nothing is as it seems.
