–> A traditional fullback focuses more on defensive stability. Their primary job is to stop wingers, maintain shape, and support the centre-backs.

Examples: Kyle Walker, Ben White, etc

Pros:
✅ Better defensive security
✅ Stronger in 1v1 defending
✅ Helps maintain team shape

Cons:
❌ Less attacking output
❌ Can make your attack predictable
❌ Fewer overlaps and crosses

–> An attacking wingback is almost like an extra winger. They push high up the pitch, create chances, overlap constantly, and stretch opposition defenses.

Examples: Nuno Mendes, Achraf Hakimi, Jeremie Frimpong, etc

Pros:
✅ Adds width and attacking threat
✅ Creates overloads in wide areas
✅ More assists, crosses, and progressive runs

Cons:
❌ Leaves space behind defensively
❌ Requires high stamina and recovery pace
❌ Can expose the backline on counter attacks
