Because “fans of a game” don’t want anything expansive they just want fanservice.

They want to sit there with each other clapping with their fingers spread out going “haha I knew that did you? Haha yeah it’s part of the game, didn’t you see that?”

You see the same foam-at-the-mouth stuff when a game has a DLC or an addition or update about a specific character or area.

Cregger is gonna do a good film, he doesn’t do bad work, he cares about his work, but “gamers” are just consumers whose entire personality is taking in without ever really giving any additional thought.
