Lt. Col. Linda Yaeger will take command of Arizona Wing, @CivilAirPatrol in January 2024. Southwest Region Commander Col. Martha Morris announced the selection today. Yaeger will replace Col. Rob Pinckard as he completes his four-year term as wing commander.

#CivilAirPatrol Cadet Sr. Master Sgt. Nica Johnson flew her first training flight as a mission scanner during a precautionary search and rescue mission at Lake Havasu in western Arizona. Johnson, a student pilot, helped with preflight then took photos during the mission.

Col. Gail Halvorsen, the WWII veteran known as the "Candy Bomber" passed away yesterday at the age of 101. He was the keynote speaker at the AZ Wing Conference banquet in June 2016, regaling the audience with stories of his experiences dropping candy to children from his plane.
