The thing about success and trading success in specific is that it’s disproportional and exponential.
After being a normal college student to where I am today the most important lesson about the universe that I got is this:
Effort is the currency of the universe, every amount of effort that you put in to your goals, whether it’s trading, posting content gets accumulated into a debt, a debt that the universe eventually has to pay back to you. Input = output. But here's the thing and why most people never enjoy the fruits of their labor. You don’t know when the output comes back. The universe has its own timing, you might work day in day out and not see any results, it might feel futile, and nothing happens for months or even years and you feel like quitting or switching to something which will give you what you want quicker. And then you see some hotshot hitting their first million in year one (yeah, we've all seen those Instagram success stories 🙄), while you're grinding away, wondering if the universe forgot about you.
But everyone has their own timing. The universe isn't your local McDonald's drive-through. It's more like that friend who borrows money and goes MIA, and then a week later you see him on his IG story travelling the world - except this friend ALWAYS pays back, with interest. That’s why patience is so important. You have to keep going, because one day the universe will pay back its debt for all the effort you put in.
I heard someone on modern wisdom say, exceptional people become exceptional by doing simple things, for an exceptionally long time. So have patience and keep going, your time will come. Trust the process.
I used to pray for money, health, relationships.
And it always seemed like my prayers weren’t answered, they felt futile. I thought to myself ”why am I not getting rewarded with the things I pray for, I thought God answered all prayers”
Then one day me and my brother were having a discussion, and we came to the topic of gratefulness. That same night I thought ”let me switch it up”, instead of praying for things that I want, let me thank God for the things that I have.
So I started talking to God and as I was telling Him about the things I’m grateful for I realised how blessed I already am. I have great health, I could’ve been sick. I have a great family, both my parents are alive. I could’ve been slaving away in some Mongolian village to barely afford food, now i have my own business.
All my life I’ve been told and taught to work hard for the things I want and they will come to me. But never understood that being able to work hard is the biggest blessing there is.
I could’ve been the kid born in Gaza. I could’ve been born paralyzed. But I wasn’t, instead I was born to a loving family and with my body fully in tact, in a first world country.
That’s the blessing. Everything else is the cherry on top. The fact that God put me in a place where I can make something greater than myself, where I don’t have to worry about my basic needs and can focus on the things I love.
It would be a disservice and disappointing for me not to work my hardest to chase my dreams, because most people can’t even if they wanted to.
If you’re living in a first world country and you’re reading this, the kids in the war torn countries would do anything to be in your spot and they probable even deserve to, don’t take it for granted.
You already have the biggest blessing, the ability to work hard and chase your dreams.
I did more this year than in the past 5 years
Growth is not linear, it's exponential.
Nothing seems to be happening, it feels like you're working for free.
Then suddenly, boom, a viral post, a business proposal, a powerful connection. And suddenly something that felt futile for so many years becomes so worth it.
So keep chipping away at it. It will come trust me.
The people who were the popular and "cool" kids in highschool are all nowhere today. It's funny how fast life changes.
Back then I was the weird one. Small, ugly, weird for posting content.
Focus on yourself, eventually they'll all comeback.
Why work so hard, why push yourself?
Love means sacrificing your happiness for that which you love.
A father helps with his childs homework even if he's tired from work.
A soldier risks his life in trenches around grenades and bullets for the love of his country.
I work hard today for the love of my future self.
There is no better showcasing of Love than hard work.
You're showing that you care about the future version of you.
You show that you care about the people around you, because you want them to experience the best version of you.
So why work hard? Love.
You will be unappreciated. You will be sabotaged. You will experience surprising failures. Your expectations will not be met. You will lose. You will fail.
How do you carry on then? How do you take pride in yourself and your work?
Change the definition of success. "Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do your best to become the best you are capable of becoming. "Ambition," Marcus Aurelius reminded himself, "means trying your well-being to what other people say or do... Sanity means trying it to your own actions."
Do your work. Do it well. That's all there needs to be.
Recognition and rewards - those are just extra. Rejection, that's on them, not us.
Get ready for it. It will happen. Maybe your parents will never be impressed. Maybe your girlfriend won't care. Maybe the investor won't see the numbers. Maybe the audience won't clap. But we have to be able to push through. We can't let that be what motivates us.
- Ryan Holiday
Progress doesn't always feel like progress. There are few things in life where you get to see the fruits of your labor immediately. Success is not one of those.
The work you put in today will feel like it's for nothing, you will feel tired, the people that told you it won't work out will be right.
Try lowering the bar.
Luckily the bar for success is subjective, thank God for that. Because that means that you can be a winner everyday.
make your bed right when you wake up... Boom! there's one win to start the day off.
Read 5 pages of a book, there's another W.
Winning builds confidence, and confidence encourages winning. By collecting small wins, you will create this feedback loop of self belief and bravery which will keep you motivated along the journey.
Again, no one can tell you what a win is. Only you can define that for yourself, so make sure to be a winner everyday.
Trading is like a war.
Every hour.
Every day.
If you lose 1 trade, you only lose the battle.
Not the war.
The war is made up by 1,000, 2,000, 3,000 trades.
Just keep showing up.
Keep going.
Never give up.
Strive to Win.
Just saw this crazy statistic
Drake: 133 songs, 38 hits (28%)
Beyonce: 89 songs, 22 hits (24%)
It's always been about output. The more output the likelier that one is a hit.
Yet you want to give up after a month because "it's not working"
