This April 7, 2025 marks the 31st commemoration of the genocide perpetrated against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
France, true to its commitment to remembrance, truth, and justice, fully joins this international day of commemoration.
Today, France extends its deepest thoughts and support to the Rwandan people.
France honors the remarkable resilience of the Rwandan people, who have risen and built a future based on reconciliation and unity.
On this day of remembrance, I reaffirm my commitment to keeping the memory of this tragic event alive, in the face of the challenges posed by revisionism and intolerance. The harrowing testimonies of survivors remind us of the urgent need to fight all forms of hatred.
Since 2019, April 7 has been an official day of commemoration in France, reflecting the will to pass on to future generations the lessons of a painful past—through education, historical research, and justice.
In line with the commitment I made, justice continues to move forward to prosecute and try the alleged perpetrators of the genocide who reside in France. Several major trials have taken place and justice has been served.
These efforts reflect our country's unwavering determination to fight impunity and forgetfulness.
And to those who are struggling to properly name the Genocide against the Tutsi, it is better not to send us any message today. We will be okay, as we always have been! #Kwibuka27

On this International Day of Reflection on the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, let’s commit to be vigilant and to work together to build a world of justice and dignity for all – in honour of all the victims and survivors of the genocide. https://t.co/hn5kLfuito
OPINION: Rwandan banks have a choice: finance the mines that could lift millions from poverty, or watch as foreign lenders and firms extract another $10 trillion in wealth.

#EidMubarak to all Muslims in Rwanda and around the world celebrating Eid al-Fitr. May this joyous occasion bring you and your loved ones peace, happiness, and prosperity. Let us continue to uphold the values of compassion, unity, and generosity that define this celebration.
I want to thank H.E.Paul Kagame, First Lady Jeanette Kagame and my counterpart General Mubarak Muganga for the warm reception my delegation and I received in Rwanda. God bless the fraternal relations between Uganda and Rwanda.
I have visited world-class stadiums even in Qatar, but the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda stands out as one of the best.
I was impressive. 🔥🇳🇬 #PoojaInRwanda
