@TheHillTimes “Can” is stupid to even ponder. Anybody CAN do anything. Strategically, should Canada? No. It makes no sense. For what purpose? Canada needs soft power, not hard power.
You’re really starting to see the signs of a Jacques Martin coached team in Ottawa. Their layering in support, their back checking. It looks like a Martin team the last two games.
@icedxlattae Or when they stop at non existent stop signs. Or when they turn right from the left lane in an intersection because it LOOKS like maybe that lane is the one time in history you can turn right from the left lane. Yeah. Cottagers.
@icedxlattae I would say cottagers driving 20 km/h under the speed limit so they can see things you see every day when you’re just trying to go to Walmart is more annoying.
@RepuChile@mr_israel1948 That depends where you are in Peru. Saying “I’ve been to Peru” as a representation of the entire country would be like me saying I’ve been to the Atacama. Chile has no water.
@Wantmy2dollars_ @DonaldCaseAZ @Kelwattz7 @krassenstein @GusQuixote That’s a product of capitalist globalization. China was always going to lose jobs to other parts of the world after it reached a level of consumer prosperity. This is why they’re so controlling of their population.
@Wantmy2dollars_ @DonaldCaseAZ @Kelwattz7 @krassenstein @GusQuixote There is always going to be favouritism in government contracting etc. That will make winners and in some cases losers. Is it right? No. But it’s what the system of governance allows.
@Wantmy2dollars_ @DonaldCaseAZ @Kelwattz7 @krassenstein @GusQuixote Global demand pull inflation hasn’t occurred for us before COVID. So nobody had a good model for it. The experts try. But they are also limited by their knowledge and experience. They are trying to follow economic principles that follow their accepted economic model. That’s hard.
@Kelwattz7 @DonaldCaseAZ @Wantmy2dollars_ @krassenstein @GusQuixote Socialism would mean corporations aren’t hiring and having staffing shortages. Job creation has been high in a lot of sectors. Maybe not all. And demand on immigration for more labour supply has also been high. Especially in some sectors.
@Wantmy2dollars_ @DonaldCaseAZ @Kelwattz7 @krassenstein @GusQuixote Yes. Social programs can place more money in the system. That can impact inflation. But you have the then weigh the social program money vs the money those same people would get from employment. What’s the offset?
@Wantmy2dollars_ @DonaldCaseAZ @Kelwattz7 @krassenstein @GusQuixote Working for a living doesn’t make you a simpleton. It means you have a different kind of education. Ask me to rebuild a small block Chevy. Not gonna happen. Doesn’t make me dumb.
@Wantmy2dollars_ @DonaldCaseAZ @Kelwattz7 @krassenstein @GusQuixote My point in writing all that is that it isn’t a left or right or Republican or Democrat or liberal or conservative problem. It’s a consumer problem in a world full of people with no patience and a yearning for instant gratification.
@Wantmy2dollars_ @DonaldCaseAZ @Kelwattz7 @krassenstein @GusQuixote Economics is complicated. This isn’t about PRINTING money. It’s about supply and demand instability in a consumer economy in a time of global uncertainty. This is why stability in international and domestic affairs absolutely matters. Have a nice day. Thanks for reading.
@Wantmy2dollars_ @DonaldCaseAZ @Kelwattz7 @krassenstein @GusQuixote So the fed decided raising rates would slow the consumer economy. Which it did to some extent. That was supposed to give corporations a chance to recalibrate for current demand and find efficiencies in the system so they could SUPPLY more goods…..
