@dantay_muscle@DalveyG Like you'd be surprised how bad the the highrise idea is thou we need the density,we need it from "missing middle" type density courtyard apartments, terraces, and 3 flats...essential European planning fits jamaica better...we need walkability and mixed use developments
@tonybwoii@DalveyG My whole thing with apartments that the dense highrise are a necessity of it's singapore bug definitely not jamaica we could accomplish a lot with midrises that give the comfort of a home&yard but provides density thing courtyard euro bloc, chicago 3 flats and terrace homes
@je11703@WarMonitor3 Don't worry 2 months from now iran will be right back to 2 weeks away from a nuke and you'll be back justifying the next war....but if anything maybe they'll also find sadam's WMDs whole their at it
@iDwayne93@firstbyte_ Yes but it was intentionally done by the Singaporeans to dis wade personal cars because they built ironically but a car centric infrastructure highrise lots of parking etc realize it was bad and tried to clean it up
@jasonwajung@DalveyG But in this format it isn't a good idea it's in concept great even a slight positive to now but it's a bit like lane expansions in concept and short term it solves the problem but it's real havoc down the road
@DalveyG@CdeKristov Good cities are built on transit and not car owner ship to density the city the last thing you want are these people to be driving endless gridlocks aka look at America or reach the stage as the singaporeans of tarrifing cars a good city makes the car obsolete
@DalveyG While Singapore housing strategy is great the means for Jamaica shouldn't be through high right apartments but transit oriented 6 storey courtyard apartment buildings or Chicago style 3/6 flats built around walkability and transit development it's a high-rise hell or walkability
@DalveyG No no we can't slide into this trap yes we can build highrise apartments but it shouldn't be the norm much less a elevator dependency or providing parking infact Kingston needs zero parking requirements mins and transit oriented developments.think Euro blocs or Chicago 3/6 flats
@JasmonjamSmith The problem is that these are speculative prices intentionally driven down by the strategic reserve it also not represented of the fact that large amount of oil infrastructure has been destroyed or the fact that tankers are super slow
@Bizkit68390579@ja_cynic Their is an argument to be made against highrise well in the way we are going them and I think that's their argument we are a little to glitzed by Dubai and are currently replicating it errors of unrestricted and unplanned development..ie the burj khalifa not having sewage line
@ja_cynic The truth is that neither of them are good.... tourism will never grow the economy ask Thailand also the first rule of oil revenue is to immediately not be reliant on oil revenue cause one economic dip and your lost for a decade after
