I met with @Amb_Mulamula , the #AU Special Envoy on Women, Peace and Security (WPS), to discuss this year’s programme of work and the activities planned for the remainder of the month.
Engagement and alignment are the hallmarks of every responsive stakeholder, just as teamwork and strategy define success in sports.
This remains our primary focus as we continue our political engagements and discussions, renewing our collective commitment to delivering victory..
Every day, everywhere, family farmers work hard to produce the food we eat.
Let's support our #ZeroHunger heroes by choosing locally-produced foods.
It will also benefit your health, the planet, and your wallet.

Opening Address by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic of #Ghana, read by Hon. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff at the Presidency, representing H.E. the President of Ghana, at the Third African Union Reflection Forum on Unconstitutional Changes of Government: #Youth Inclusion for African Stability, 3rd July, 2026, Accra, Ghana https://t.co/Qbxk2KuOJy
As a whole, humans throw away more than 1 billion tonnes of food every year. This is a tremendous waste of resources and a major driver of climate change.
But there is plenty that can be done to ensure that food ends up nourishing rather than polluting.
Seven ways to cut food waste: https://t.co/gm9mnUImog
Déclaration De Mme Amina Bello, Ambassadrice Africaine de La Jeunesse Pour La Paix de L'Union africaine (@AU_AYAPs) - Région Afrique Centrale : Troisième Forum de Réflexion de L'Union africaine Sur les Changements Anticonstitutionnels de Gouvernement en Afrique (Accra III) - L'inclusion des Jeunes au Service de la Stabilité de L'Afrique: https://t.co/FdoRugdSjP
Statement By H.E. Amb. Bankole Adeoye (@Bankole_Adeoye), Commissioner for @AUC_PAPS, at the Third African Union Reflection Forum on Unconstitutional Changes of Government (UCGs) in Africa: Youth Inclusion for African Stability, Accra, Ghana – 3 July 2026 https://t.co/tcYEyW2VBy
The Third African Union Reflection Forum on Unconstitutional Changes of Government, themed “Youth Inclusion for African Stability”, has opened in Accra, Ghana, with statements from H.E. Commissioner @Bankole_Adeoye; H.E. Amb. @Rotengo2 of Uganda, Chair of the #AUPSC in July 2026; Ms Amina Bello, @AU_AYAPs for Central Africa; and Hon. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff at the Presidency, representing the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, who officially opened the Forum.
They emphasised the critical role of #youth in promoting good governance, peace, security and stability in Africa; underscored zero tolerance for unconstitutional changes of government; and called for strengthened partnerships to promote youth political participation and inclusive governance across the African continent, in line with the 2022 Accra Declaration and the Malabo commitments of May 2022.
The Forum brings together representatives of: the AU Peace and Security Council and the Permanent Representatives Committee; government institutions; the AU Commission and relevant AU organs; Regional Economic Communities and Mechanisms (RECs/RMs); civil society organisations, academia, think tanks, labour unions, constitutional lawyers, professional groups and development partners; and youth leaders, youth-led organisations and networks – given the thematic focus of this third edition.
On behalf of the #AUC, I signed an #MoU with the African Regional Institute for Geospatial Science and Information (@AFRIGIST_), a Nigeria-based inter-governmental organisation that trains highly skilled manpower in geospatial information science and technology, and its applications. The Commission looks forward to leveraging the expertise of @AFRIGIST_ to strengthen the geospatial capacities of border stakeholders – a central requirement for the delimitation, demarcation, and reaffirmation of inter-state boundaries.
I am happy to report that the Federal Executive Council today approved the comprehensive reform of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the first holistic review of the Scheme in its 53-year history.
For over five decades, the NYSC has remained a powerful symbol of national unity and service. Today, we have taken a bold step to preserve that legacy while preparing it for the future. We are transforming the Scheme into a platform that not only unites Nigeria but also equips our young people with the skills, experience and opportunities they need to thrive in a fast-changing world.
The approved reforms will reposition the NYSC as a skills-driven, productivity-focused and youth-empowering institution that aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision of building a $1 trillion economy.
Some of the landmark reforms include:
1. A technology-driven call-up process.
2. Risk-sensitive deployment to better protect corps members.
3. A redesigned six-week orientation programme with stronger focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, digital skills and specialised career streams.
4. Skills-based primary assignments aligned with academic background and career pathways.
5. Modern governance with civilian operational leadership while the military continues to provide security support.
6. Improved camp standards through a national grading and certification system.
7. A new graduation ceremony to replace Passing Out Parade, and redesigned NYSC uniform that reflect professionalism and national pride.
This reform journey began in 2025 through a broad-based, multi-stakeholder review involving the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the Federal Ministry of Education and the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination.
Today, that hard work has received the endorsement of the Federal Executive Council.
Council also directed the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development to commence the amendment of the NYSC Act and its regulations to give legal effect to these reforms and enable their implementation.
This is more than a reform of an institution. It is an investment in Nigeria's greatest asset, our young people. The future of the NYSC begins now, and it is brighter, more relevant and more impactful than ever.
