Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweets, "My salute to the Indian pilot Captain Smit Machchhar for his extraordinary bravery. Despite being stabbed and seriously injured, he fought back, resisted, opened the cockpit door, and enabled passengers and crew to overpower the attacker — preventing a catastrophic mid-air disaster. He saved the lives of 174 people, including Israeli citizens and other nationals. I wish Captain Machchhar a speedy and full recovery. He is a true hero."

BREAKING: A federal appeals court halts the execution of Tennessee death row inmate Christa Pike about an hour before she was set to die by lethal injection.
Execution witnesses had already gathered at Riverbend Maximum Security Institution in Nashville when the order came down around 9 a.m. local time.
The judges say they want to review whether Pike's allegations of childhood sexual abuse and rape were fully considered before she was sentenced to death.
Pike, now 50, was convicted of murdering 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer in 1995, when Pike was 18. Her execution would have been Tennessee's first of a woman in at least 200 years.
It's not yet clear how long the delay will last or whether Tennessee's attorney general will appeal.
@AtriNeeraj@narendramodi No leader, I repeat no leader can ever be the Lee Kuan Yew of a diverse and democratic country like India.
That said, modiji could have at least made a valiant attempt to reach there within the limitations he was operating under.
Sadly, we saw no attempt at all.
How do you expect to survive and progress peacefully as a nation when a large chunk of your population, enabled by a statute enacted by the Parliament, have become bad faith actors and have weaponized that very statute to terrorize others?
#IITBombayProtest
I stand with Prof. Suryanarayan Doolla
The facts are now out
1. No complaint was made against him to IITB SC/ST cell or the police.
2. Multiple testimonies(attached) from students who have interacted with him(including some from SC/ST community) confirming his character.
3. No evidence or witnessed provided for the accusation
4. A multi-decade long career with no similar accusations been made(even after he was booked)
But the icing on the cake that convinces me that the probability the accusations are true is close to zero was the fact that the following allegation has been made:
- “Prof. Doolla hurled caste based abuses at the behest of the Director”
Anybody who has half a brain-cell and has seen any large institution functioning can tell- that couldn’t possibly be true.
IITB has 10000+ students from bachelors, masters, phd, a large chunk of whom are from SC/ST communities - the insinuation that the director of such a large institution would personally encourage the abuse of an individual second year undergrad student- is laughable at best.
Even if we believe this for a minute- among thousands of possible students, why would only a single student be singled out for this? Where is there an accusation from even a single other person of such systemic abuse?
And if you can’t present any, do you honestly believe that the director of such a huge institute would leave all his work aside and specifically target only a single student?
They should at least have made their lies more believable.
I am truly saddened by the incident and think we need to reflect on what we are doing wrong as a society that we’re having suicides at our premiere institutes every couple of months. I also can’t imagine what his friends and family are going through today and hope they get the strength to get past this.
But this sad incidence does not justify the unfair witch-hunt against Prof. Doolla and the torture him and his family are being subject to right now.
To the best of the knowledge about the series of events- All he did was do his job - and he is being punished for that.
Given the circumstances, the least he is owed is a presumption of innocence as the investigation occurs.
It’s a dark day when you start punishing your brightest minds simply for doing their job.
I hope collective sense is restored and we can all move past this.
Brahmanism🤡
In this IIT Bombay incident, the real culprit is not a student with a phone in an Exam Hall. The real culprit is the Brahmanical idea that an Exam Hall exists.
In an egalitarian society, which Babasaheb envisioned, knowledge is collective. If the question paper is already there in the real world, then why are Dalit Students expected to reproduce answers like a Vedic Priest reciting mantras?
"Cheating", just like "merit", is a flawed concept. It's a form of academic purity, digital untouchability, applied to college examinations. "Cheating" assumes a level field, there's no level field for historically excluded sections of the society.
If a caste Hindu student uses Chatgpt, it's "research". If a Dalit student uses Chatgpt, it's "malpractice". Same prompt different jati. Chatgpt is a known silicon pujari.
We must overthrow this Brahmanical memory apartheid. 🔥🔥🔥

@GabbbarSingh Our premier institutions are not meant for the average Joe. They are islands of excellence, despite the quota class and are obligated to maintain academic rigour.
@Awasthiii_18 This is a travesty of justice already. That professor should be tried summarily, convicted and hanged immediately for the crime of catching a student in the act of cheating.
@modularform ..catching them in the act of cheating will be punishable by imprisonment for life and if such student commits suicide, pubishable by death. 2/2
@modularform After this unfortunate incident, UGC will frame another regulation which will have a non-obstante deeming provision that students from the SC/ST communities will be deemed to have not indulged in cheating irrespective of the circumstances and.. 1/2.
@rashmigautam27 A large majority of Indians do not even have sufficient space to live for themselves and they keep these dangerous breeds as pets.
There should be a blanket ban on keeping a pet unless you fulfill a set criteria.
