BTW just because you keep your cat generally inside it doesn't needs to be a full indoor cat. There are many ways of giving your cat outdoor enrichment, like leashes, training, enclosures etc. With dogs there are much harsher rules, why not with cats?
Keep cats inside!
Yes its not your cats fault that it has instincts and hunts, but its the humans fault that we keep them in such high numbers & letting them roam uncontrolled having a huge impact on wildlife. Cats are one of the biggest threats to bird populations.
In the debate over protecting native wildlife from domestic felines, one thing is often overlooked: cats should be kept indoors for the sake of cats.
Keeping cats indoors is a rare solution where everybody wins, including our beloved pets.

What makes me really angry is that even people with very ecological sustainable mindsets think its oh so cruel to keep a cat inside... but don't think about the cruelty done by human society via keeping cats outside and uncontrolled to wildlife...

On my way home from #Behaviour2023, I had a wonderful time, so many amazing talks, inspiration & new ideas, seeing old friends, new connections, fruitfull discussions and my first poster presentation at a big conference. I am truly greatfull to be part of this amazing community!
I will still stick around here, 1. to be in the front row when this all blows up and 2. to know and find folks from my network on other platforms, at least as long as I don't get completely sick of what this turns into🤷♂️
I think the big boss of this platform might finally completely kill Twitter and turn it in to just another capitalistic business atrocity. It might soon not be the place where I loved to follow research news, fellow scientists andthe newest paleoart anymore... #TwitterX 1/3
Unfortunately all of those other platforms are still a bit underpopulated...
#ScienceTwitter when are we mass-migrating? Or wouldn't it be time to come up with our own science related twitter clone? (3/4?)
What is the cost of science being conducted in English? @tatsuya_amano &co reveal that non-native English speakers spend more effort than native speakers in conducting scientific activities (reading, writing, preparing presentations...) #PLOSBiology https://t.co/lrwJ44hUV1
Dinosaur Tier-List! (at least the ones from @JoschuaKnuppe posters)
I think the fact that none of them are under tier A already shows that I love them all, with some favourites... 😄
I'm a bit lat to the party, but this seemed like fun so I replied to @DennisMHansen and he gave me black, lets see what I've got.....
