I made good money out of high school for the time but living by myself was still doable at $18 bucks. Over a decade ago. Just 6 dollars more in today's economy is barely cutting it. And that's backed by CPI #'s

Its easy even for me to lose sight of what someone financially needs to survive because I make more. It seems you struggle with it too. You are talking about a "simply existing" wage.
