Small anecdote:

The recent Soejima sketch seems to directly target the English audience with the referral of "the Midnight Channel".

The JP name of the phenomenon is Mayonaka TV which was applied directly to the JP logo of P4 Arena despite being otherwise English text.

Fun fact: In Persona 4, Rise Kujikawa's dungeon first becomes accessible on June 25th, 2011.
