12 June 1929 | A German Jewish girl, Anne Frank, was born in Frankfurt.

In 1942 on her 13th birthday she received an empty diary. She perished in Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945.

'Human greatness does not lie in wealth or power, but in character & goodness.' (A.Frank)

Parent's,

if you are concerned your children are being "indoctrinated" in school, I suggest the following:

1 Take your discipleship seriously.
2 Embody faithfully the faith you want your children to the make their own.
3 Love them with time.
4 Attend church faithfully.

#EnoughIsEnough

We can't and must not continue doing the same thing, getting the same horrific results.
America, mass school shootings is an American issue.

If we are going to move forward, personally and as the church, we will need to slow down...a lot. #EHDiscipleship

I suspect some of the widespread exhaustion we are seeing in people is the result of returning to our pre-pandemic pace of life without our pre-pandemic emotional reserves.

[Lezah Maitland @BackwardsHazel]

@SHoddeMiller We are doing the “Nice” Bible Study right now at my church. I love that you talked about as Christians we can go grow wide but not always grow deep. “Nice” has been such a great study & very convicting. Thank you.

7 prayers before worship:

1. Lord, fix my heart upon Christ.
2. Lord, open my mind to your Word.
3. Lord, remind me of the gospel.
4. Lord, empty me of this world.
5. Lord, bless those who minister.
6. Lord, help me to encourage others.
7. Lord, equip me to respond in grace.

Jonah is swallowed by a fish. On the outside it looks like the end for him. But he is actually being carried by God.

Sometimes life can swallow us whole. It looks & feels like the end. But the mystery of faith is that God uses all of this to carry us toward his purpose for us.

[Pete Scazzero @petescazzero]

These three statements summarize the core of what Emotionally Healthy Discipleship is. They express well what Jesus modeled for us.

[Pete Scazzero @petescazzero]

Scripture invites us to “believe” in Jesus, i.e. “to be trusting in him” moment by moment. One great scholar notes the best translation for “trust” in Jesus is to “relax” in him. What an invitation!!

In ministry, having mentors is crucial. Thanks @jimmyxa for sharing this timeless piece of wisdom with me today https://t.co/JgsJnrtl0n

@TheTedAllen Do you ever get to try any of the food on Chopped? Thanks for being such an amazing host of one of the best shows on TV.

Lower the bar.

The world is still contagious.
The diet industry is still screaming because JANUARY.
Lots of us are lonely and uncomfortable and adjusting to an ever present stress that is still stressful.

Be kind to yourself.

Questions for an evening Examen:

1. Did I see anyone thru the eyes of Christ’s love today?

2. Did I bring my anxious thoughts before God in prayer?

3. Was I present to God’s presence in silence?

4. Is there any sin I must acknowledge and request God’s forgiveness?

Being honest with God is essential in paving an authentic connection from our heart to His. Pretending to be fine would be fake at best, deadening at worst.

If something hurts, we can tell Him. We can take our gut-honest feelings to God and ask him to help us process them.
