The reason their city was chosen was because of the power infrastructure they need, resident outrage doesn’t matter

Developer “We look for strong spots on the grid, and that's what we have here”

Resident “So you're just basically here not because you like the city of Piedmont, but because you like the power infrastructure and things like that?”

Developer “The power infrastructure is very good”

They openly admit they don’t care about the residents, they don’t care about the town or the issues the data center will cause, they are here for the power

Massie has already introduced the Prime Act which does what Trump is Talking About.

But nobody talked about it then, nobody mentioned that there was already a bill that does just this. The pettiness is absolutely astounding.

The issue isn’t with processing. There isn’t some law that prevents a farmer from processing their own animals.

The issue is they can’t sell individual cuts of meat that they process.

All Trump has to do is endorse the Prime Act to actually fix this issue once and for all, but instead he will issue another meaningless executive order and pretend he fixed something he doesn’t even understand.

Leave the Amish alone. They aren’t lobbying, rioting, or demanding everyone else change. They’re a quiet, self-reliant community that builds their own schools, grows their own food, and asks only to raise their children in their faith.

New York already stripped religious exemptions, then piled massive fines on private Amish schools for non-compliance. That’s not public health. That’s coercion against people who opt out of the system.

Religious liberty that only applies when it’s convenient isn’t liberty. If the state can bankrupt communities for living their beliefs, then the First Amendment is theater. Let them live in peace. That’s the American deal.

Fact check (because apparently most people are too dumb to realize this):

He has no authority to simply "create documents" that let farmers process on their own. That's something that needs congressional approval. More importantly, what he's proposing already exists. I already buy my cows from a local rancher who has it processed locally. It's still USDA inspected. It just comes back with a special stamp on it that points out it can't be resold.

Once again, Trump is doing absolutely nothing except offering performative theatre to cool the anger of rightfully outraged ranchers that have been decimated by his policies. It's more bread and circuses.

Sad thing is, they'll probably fall for it.

We can always process our own meat. We can’t sell by the cut… and many of us don’t have the ability or the infrastructure. What needs to happen is allowing custom cut sales by the cut.

- He CANNOT “authorize documents” that let ranchers sell their own processed meat. That’s federal law. Needs Congress.

- Custom slaughter already exists. The meat comes back stamped NOT FOR SALE: still needs USDA inspection.
