Today, on World Refugee Day, we stand in solidarity with millions of forcibly displaced people around the globe. For Bangladesh, this is not just a global issue, it’s our lived reality.
With over 1.4 million Rohingyas taking shelter in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh continues to show its humanitarian commitment for displaced Rohingyas. But this crisis remains one of the world’s gravest, and the burden is growing to levels that are dangerously unsustainable.
We urge the interim government to intensify diplomatic efforts and put sustained pressure on Myanmar for the safe, dignified, and voluntary repatriation of the Rohingyas. The international community must ensure this is acted upon by all parties, as the crisis is far from over.
Let us renew our commitment towards implementing and adhering to peaceful and just systems that ensure that no refugee is left behind when returning home.

Congratulations to Professor Muhammad Yunus and his fellow advisers on forming the interim government of Bangladesh.
Looking back, this moment arises from the widespread injustices and violations Bangladeshis faced under Sheikh Hasina’s authoritarian regime for 16 grueling years.
The quota movement sparked participation from all democracy-loving people beyond our brave students — from teachers, workers, and rickshaw-pullers to housewives, ordinary citizens, and political activists.
The protests were not just about quota reform, but a united stand against unprecedented levels of corruption, inflation, unemployment, suppression of freedom of expression and human rights violations. The list of wrongdoings by her regime had grown to monstrous heights over Awami League’s rule.
With the fall of the regime, the people of Bangladesh now expect the interim government to create an environment where they can vote freely to reflect their democratic aspirations and enable fair and credible national elections to take place.
@bdbnp78 supports the formation of an elected government with a public mandate, and an accountable parliament serving the people, restoring the people’s rights and freedoms, thereby establishing the rule of law and good governance.
The democratic aspiration of Bangladesh is rekindled through the valiant efforts of students, workers, political activists, and ordinary people. However, the spirit of our struggle is being undermined by conspiring factions and vested groups, creating instability and disrupting the democratic transition. I urge the current administration to firmly control the law and order situation, and restore the rule of law, ensuring that every citizen can live safely and without fear.
The pro-freedom stakeholders of Bangladesh, including @bdbnp78, must remain vigilant against this conspiracy, for our hard-fought struggle cannot be bulldozed and blind-sided by the instability. As the largest political party in Bangladesh, with formidable grassroots, I call upon all BNP leaders and activists to stand as resolute shields for their friends and neighbours, regardless of religion, creed or class. We are all Bangladeshis, united in our shared identity, which I’m certain each and every one of us takes immense pride in.
Sheikh Hasina’s resignation proves the power of the people and will be an example for generations to come, showing how the courage of the people can overpower atrocities.
Congratulations to the students and protesters from all sections of society. Their selfless sense of justice and love for their fellow country people have prevailed on this historic day.
Together, let’s rebuild Bangladesh into a democratic and developed nation, where the rights and freedoms of all people are protected.
