IS SHE A SHARK SCIENTIST NOW??🤯
MSc thesis is completed on #whaleshark scarring in the #RedSea. Wow. It's done.
Massive, massive thanks Dr Cochran @RoyaleWithSeas@Phil_D_Doherty @BrendanGodley @RSRC_KAUST @MarineVertsMSc. My dreams have been realised.
Ran into a neighbour this morning who said that we HAD to read this @TelegraphNews article about orca - didn’t think we’d be in the article!
Pretty surreal seeing our names in print @juliet_maxted@CetaceanBoy!
JOB ALERT!!!! SMRU are recruiting for TWO seal diet technicians. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team working to understand regional harbour seal declines.

‼️TW: Graphic Imagery ‼️
Stole this vid of an orca predating on a whale shark off of fb 🔗👇
They are displaying v similar behaviour to Port and Starboard, but in the Sea of Cortez. It seems the first orca is distracting the WS while the second removes the liver! Fascinating.
🎵🚨 Well, I’m hot blooded, check it and see…🎵🚨
Despite always been known as being cold blooded, basking sharks are actually regionally endothermic like their close relatives great whites! 🔥🦈🔥
Check out my second PhD chapter here: https://t.co/UwCm4FNzfw
A lovely article by @Telegraph’s @MrGuyKelly featuring some very insightful words by @CetaceanBoy & @juliet_maxted…and me saying “orcas are crazy”. Seems apt!
Big thanks to Guy who spent many hours listening to us blabber on…take a read👇
Hey #FishTwitter! Looking to Fyne-d the owner of this acoustic receiver deployed in Loch Fyne (Scotland 🏴)
Got a local sailer who has found it ashore! Can anyone reach out if you know who it belongs to?

An incredible week on @SeaWatchersUK’s #orcawatch with the nicest people! Cracking sp list inc humpback whale, harbour porpoise, risso dolphins & orca! As well as incredible abundance of seabirds. Still trying to process it all! There was a fin whale out their too! Blog to follow
Now THIS is what #OrcaWatch is about!! Nothing quite like watching someone you love (@juliet_maxted) seeing a magnificent animal (orca!!) for the first time 🥺
