In the course of my career, God has been kind to me. I remember when I’d go to “bend-down-select markets” to buy clothes that I will wash and starch to style people on movie sets while praying and waiting to be casted in movie roles, to today where I can now shop globally for merchandise to properly style myself and the cast that work with me on my sets. Having the financial capability to bring my visions to life is a blessing that I am forever grateful for.
It is why I am honored to lend my voice to the campaign #HerMoneyHerPower. I must say, women's economic power is not about pride, unhealthy competition or rivalry, it is about the importance of Women’s financial freedom and ability to make their own choices, on their own terms. It is about a woman’s liberation from financial instability and desperation.
Join me and the movement to unlock women's economic power to create a world where women are financially independent, not at the mercy of other people with enough motivation to achieve what they set their minds to.

This is basically a filler word, with other examples such as: uhm, like, so, enh
And as a host, it was something I didn't want to have to struggle with on-stage
So in this thread, I will share why these occurrences happen and how I have been curtail them

@abisola_ad I think it's always strategic but loves comes as a bonus, true friendship matters a lot. In all, get yourself a kind and intentional partner, the journey is a long one
Dear Doc, this scenario you have painted goes beyond the issue of forgery or the person of Bola Tinubu. You have unknowingly hit the nerve centre of what is wrong with Nigeria, the country, and Nigeria, the human society - unequal, inconsistent, subjective, and dishonest application of rules and behavioural standards.
If a group of Nigerians should ever decide that someone is on "their team," there is nothing they are not prepared to ignore, overlook, make excuses for, or tell lies about, no matter how obvious the misbehaviour is, or how egregious the cover-up lies have to be.
That's why when a woman says no to a popular musician in a nightclub and his fragile ego cannot handle rejection, so he and his posse end up shooting her fiance and endangering the lives of everyone present, only to later pay them a gagging settlement, his fans choose to hound and harass the journalist who reports the incident instead of requiring the most basic human accountability from their fave.
It's why a politician who has TILL TODAY never proven that he completed secondary school, would run for office and when his lack of qualification is called out, his supporters would be like, "Even if he presents a NEPA bill as his certificate, we will still vote for him."
It's how come when a big story comes out detailing serious corporate governance failures or malfeasance by a powerful investor or tech bro, the immediate response by his friends and beneficiaries is ALWAYS to attack the whistleblower or the person who reported it by inferring that they are misguided or maliciously trying to "bring his business down" instead of dealing with the actual issue.
It's why half of my family avoids me or looks at me funny - because after everyone has finished cursing the government and complaining about "Nigeria he nor good o", we will remember that we share a surname with prominent people in the same government. I'm supposed to support the government because Aunty Bimbo is Lagos SSG, Uncle Biodun is ex-DCG NIS, Ben is NPF Lagos PRO, etc.
It's why I'm even sure that if I wake up tomorrow and become the opposite of everything I have ever stood for, I will still retain a following - because too many people would value the feeling of "liking" me over the material reality that I would have become a monster.
The most successful societies on earth today are those that have learned to enforce certain base levels of legality and behavioural expectations across board. The least successful ones are the ones where prominent people commit crimes like certificate forgery in broad daylight, and people like the fellow below come on national TV and dance naked to support them.
Until Nigeria and Nigerians learn to prioritise certain basic ideals and standards over individuals and personalities, we are NOT heading anywhere fast. Bola Tinubu's certificate forgery may just be a symptom of the wider problem, but how Nigeria handles it is, I think, a watershed moment in the country's history.
Blessings to us all.
Japa curse: I miss my friends.
Last night as I writhed in ear pains, I decided to distract myself with positive thoughts, then I asked myself how big a party we would throw if me and madam decided to have another baby.
I tried to make a list of my friends and how each of them would turn up to slay with their families on the day (as band of brothers that we are). Then it occured to me that roughly 80% of my best friends have already left Nigeria or have plans to leave by September.
That moment, the realization dawned on me: I suddenly realized that I was half-naked, quality-friends wise, and that I needed to be open to making new friends among a list of people I was not familiar with their humble beginnings and stories.
I don't intend to relocate, at least not in the near future but I respect people who see it as a fresh start and an escape from the torments of this country. I'm also very much aware that once people relocate they are starting new lives and prior existing relationships will never be the same again. (time difference, pressure etc).
However, I can't help but wonder: how is it possible that, despite the fact that we are not actively at war, I've lost nearly 80% of my best friends—a list I carefully and meritoriously compiled over a period spanning more than 15 years—to the nefarious hands of immigration, sparked and catalysed solely by wicked and greedy SOBs that we have as leaders and their stupid policies?
Our political ruling class mismanaged our resources and the potential of our brilliant/talented younger population to the point that everything is now unstable, including human relationships. The past is depressing, the present is miserable and the future is bleak.
I appreciate having true friends. I occasionally sit with them, rubbing off on them as they do the same for me. For that reason, I have to make new friends once more, hoping (not that it's a curse) that they are not already in the final stages of their relocation plans and as well praying that they are genuinely beautiful people. This kept me awake for most of the night...
Nigeria, please work in my lifetime. Please.

BREAKING!!!
CBN borrowed $13.8 Billion from U.S Banks (JP Morgan & Goldman Sachs). Bubari & Emefiele “secretly” used Nigeria’s Foreign Reserve as Collateral. They printed N32 Trillion in Ways & Means as well.
Both men sabotaged Nigeria’s Sovereignty, they wrecked the Naira & your Economy.
Do you realize the magnitude of this Economic Sabotage? Your Foreign Reserve was $33 billion in July 2023. Debit $13.8 billion from this CBN managed asset.
What do you have left? If you pay off the debt, Nigeria will be left with less than $20 billion for a 200 million population.
A quick breakdown of the Debt:
$7 billion to JP Morgan Chase, & $500 million to Goldman Sachs under a “Classified Securities Lending.” $6.3 billion exposure to Foreign Currency Forwards.
“Foreign Currency Forwards” are CBN’s obligations to foreign investors.
Obasanjo grew your Foreign Reserve from $5.4 billion in 1999, to $51.3 billion by 2007. He cleared your Foreign debts as well.
Buhari has sank Nigeria back into humongous debt. Nigeria’s Total Debt Profile was N77 Trillion. Add the “secret” $13.8 billion & tell me the number?
WHERE ARE THESE MONIES?
I remembered when I was in a talking stage with a man above my pay grade. My man was having problems in millions, me and my 60k salary will just saying ‘wow, omg I’m so sorry, I’ll be praying for you’.
Emi mi fe bo.😒
@AyokunnumiA@BiodunStephenO I NEVER cry in movies. But SISTÀ got into my bones & soul. I cried like a baby.
The simplicity of the storytelling and the phenomenal (award-winning) acting of the lead character (Vicky/ Sistà) kept me glued to the screen.
Biodun: Your work speaks for itself. Well done! 👏 💯%
