A proper Sunday league battle today, made even tougher by the wind, which felt about 10 times stronger next to the airstrip! We went behind but showed great character to pull it back around

Slow start from the lads today which saw us go 2-0 down early on, but the lads managed to pull one back before half time.
Second half saw a much better performance and a deserved equaliser.

FT: Moor Park Utd 2 - 2 BAE Warton

Lancashire Sunday Football League is back! We began the 2026-27 season in earnest this morning with four Division One fixtures and the preliminary round of the Syndicate Trust Challenge Cup.

There were tight home wins for Irongate and Wyresdale Rangers, against Greenlands and Lonsdale Casuals respectively. Irongate won 2-1, Wyresdale 3-2. FC Preston Reds drew 1-1 with Fylde Coast with both goals coming in the first 45.

14 teams advanced to the next round of the 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗽 with Matrix Borough being drawn as a bye.

Atletico Chequers recorded a 4-2 home win against Fishwick Rangers, Brookfield were also winners at home versus Penwortham Town. Chorley Rovers won 3-0 to eliminate FC Friargate. Sir Tom Finney won 6-0 against Bamber Bridge Town.

Moor Park United were impressive in victory over debutants Grimsargh Village, hat-tricks were recorded by Liam Foy and Alexander Fowler.

Dion Holden's four goals and Jack Mountain's three saw Gregson Lane Wanderers win at AFC Bamber, SRDC won away at Freckleton. Kirkham Seniors earned a 2-0 victory away to Midgery Court and Chorley Wanderers (Whites) overcame Parkfield Ants 3-1.

Last season's Presidents Cup finalists AFC Horwich earned a 2-1 victory at Tanterton & Ingol, while Penwortham St. Teresa's beat Tarleton Corinthians 4-1 and a hat-trick for Dominic Case helped BAE Warton to defeat Whittle.

Three games went to penalties. Gregson Lane won 4-3 on spot-kicks against Ashton Villa after a 2-2 draw, the same scoreline sent Leyland Albion and Sporting Euxton to penalties in Farrington - Albion prevailed 4-2. Theatre Boys are through to the next round, they won on penalties 7-6 against Worden Rangers.

Teams eliminated in the preliminary and first round of the Challenge Cup will be entered into the Syndicate Trust Presidents Cup.
