President Bola Tinubu has extended his warm greetings to Alhaji Ashafa Ajibola Erogbogbo, an elder statesman and retired aviation supervisor at Shell Company Nigeria Limited, as he marks his centenary on May 28.
In a personally signed statement President Tinubu says he joins the family to give glory to God for for Alhaji Ashafa Erogbogbo century long journey and contributions to national development.
"Reaching 100 years is a remarkable milestone, a rare blessing, and a reward for a life of discipline, dedication, integrity, and selfless service to humanity and the nation."

The President listed the areas of his service to the nation, "your service years at Government Printing Press, Nigeria Customs and Excise and later Shell Company Nigeria Limited. In all the places where you worked, you demonstrated professionalism, diligence, and a commitment to excellence.

Your role as a respected community leader in Ikorodu, Lagos State, and mentor is widely acknowledged. Your wisdom, counsel, and exemplary lifestyle continue to inspire younger generations.

It is noteworthy that you, the father of Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), remain sharp of mind and warm of spirit at this advanced age."

President Tinubu while wishing to read Ashafa Erogbogbo's book “Echoes of Grace: The Journey of a Century,” published to mark his birthday notes that he rejoices with him, the children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in the extraordinary milestone.

Members of the Concerned Nigeria Youth Forum on Tuesday staged a march in Abuja, as show of support for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), amid controversy over the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The group, led by Adeyeye Olugbenga, its convener, said the demonstration was aimed at defending Nigeria’s democracy and the integrity of the electoral body.

Olugbenga said the protest followed “attacks from all manner of destructive elements” against INEC after the commission complied with a court injunction and removed the “illegal leadership of ADC in person of David Mark” from its portal.

Abel Gershon, a 300-level building student at the University of Jos (UNIJOS), Plateau state, who was injured in the recent Angwan Rukuba attack, has died.

On March 29, suspected bandits struck a popular bar in the community in Jos north LGA, shooting sporadically, with at least 28 people confirmed dead and several left injured afterwards.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated his Special Adviser on Job Creation and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, on the occasion of his birthday,

In a statement by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu commended Adekunle-Johnson for his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to advancing the administration’s vision of empowering Nigerians through sustainable job creation and the growth of MSMEs, which remain the backbone of the nation’s economy.

IT noted that Adekunle-Johnson’s remarkable leadership and innovation in driving policies and programmes that support entrepreneurship, stimulate economic opportunities, and uplift small businesses across the country.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed confidence in Adekunle-Johnson’s continued contributions towards fostering inclusive economic growth and expanding opportunities for Nigerians, particularly the youth and emerging entrepreneurs.

Noting that Working in partnership with key stakeholders in the public and private sectors, Adekunle-Johnson has led the Expanded National MSME Clinics to several states of the federation. He has also facilitated the establishment of 18 Shared Hubs in different parts of the country, with more at various stages of completion, creating about 478,000 jobs while promoting enterprise sustainability across Nigerian small businesses.

It added that one of the leading initiatives managed by Adekunle-Johnson, the government has entrenched excellence, innovation and hard work in the small business space in Nigeria by rewarding outstanding MSMEs at the annual event, showcasing the possibilities of growth within Nigeria’s small business market.

The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the MSME sector as a key driver of inclusive economic growth.
