one thing that people dont really talk about with sh (cutting specifically) is how much of ur time is spent Cleaning. cleaning ur cuts. cleaning bloodstains. cleaning ur skin after covering it in blood. so much cleaning. i spend more time cleaning than cutting

@sage4skin Some experts do! Because superficial (and I don’t mean that in an invalidating way) sh is so much more common nowadays, and requires different care, some differentiate using the term “atypical NSSI” for medically significant cases. Most doctors aren’t educated on that tho :(
