Faiza Ali, the new commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, told NY1’s @KellyMena that the Mamdani administration has placed more emphasis on assisting immigrants in the city, including legal services and “Know Your Rights” materials, in response to the federal government's immigration crackdown.
“This is a very traumatic time for immigrant communities. It is not just impacting them, it is impacting their whole families, and so we want to make sure that immigrant communities have the mental health services that they need,” Ali said.
