Incredible to see two Red-billed Tropicbirds on Fuerteventura today: what a bird! Not often that displaying Houbara Bustards take second place on a day on Fuerteventura
@JohnLawArt Hi John, Your photo unfortunately includes a young birder who in no way harassed the shrike or encroached upon it. It is a shame he has been dragged into this spat.
The Cherry Hinton black redstart was still showing well in the gloom this evening. Birding after work on a Friday has been quite productive recently. Nice start to the weekend. @CambsBirdClub
Some lovely birds in Norfolk today. White-tailed eagle, shore lark, snow bunting, red-necked grebe and black guillemot at Holkham. @cleyspy for the long-eared owl and Warham Greens for merlin, hen and pallid harrier. Lots of friendly, helpful birders especially @DJLbirding
Plenty of birds at Easington yesterday. Red-flanked bluetail and Pallas’ warbler being the highlights. Lots of bramblings and black redstarts. Also plenty of birds down the road @spurnbirdobs A firecrest and jack snipe among the highlights along with the lovely people.
Quick trip to Grafham to catch-up with the long-tailed duck yesterday evening. Red-crested pochard and American wigeon still present. Nice to have the little stint and common scoter pointed out in the fading light.
Plenty to see at Titchwell today. A distant Slavonian grebe was the highlight. Saw even less of a jack snipe. A snow bunting was much easier to see. Nice to end the day with a hen harrier.
Nice trip to Dernford this evening to see the pectoral sandpiper. A pleasure to meet finder Richard Fowling. Also ruff, common sandpiper, little egret and eight ringed plover @CambsBirdClub
Great day at Spurn Mig Fest. Loads of birds. Citrine wagtail the highlight and sooty shearwater. Plenty of passage migrants inc. lesser whitethroat and spotfly. Great people too inc. @DavidWalsh22@AlfieBirder@Northern_Birder
